Damn, Sundays go by real fast. But hey, new week means new opportunities.

Decided to post a little something on Kicks again. Starting off with Veja, a brand some of you all might have heard of and for some it might still be a new acquaintance. Veja is a drop into the ocean… The brand has taken green approach since its launch in France and Tokyo in 2005.

The sneakers similar to the high quality Japanese denim are made of Organic Cotton, but  also use natural latex from the Amazon. The cotton is grown by producers in Brazil who grow the cotton without the use of pesticides or manure. The leather is also tanned organically with natural compounds without the use of heavy metals. The brand also enforces fair trade by for instance buying cotton respecting fair trade rules negotiating and offering twice the market price to the producers of the cotton. Another pick of the week is a collaboration between Adidas and Japanese denim producer Kaihara. Kaihara has a history in denim production that goes way back to 1951. The shoe is made of denim and actually has selvedge lines forming the Adidas’ three stripes. The shoe also features tan leather for accents and inner lining.  The Lot AC-01 seen on the leather lining refers to the denim lot used on the leather patch of the jeans. I know one lucky bastard who has these shoes and I’m still searching for a pair in size US 13-14. So if you have info on where to get one in these sizes do let me know, heh.  There is also a matching denim track jacket available as a result of this collaboration. The particular style of Adidas is a great match to a pair of nice jeans.
