Vintage 0901 – Week IV – V

by on May.08, 2009, under Headlines

Bonjour and thank god for Fridays,

Another week down and it’s still all good. First and foremost my apologies for having to combine two status updates into one, heh.

Well let’s get this show on the road. Last week I decided to try few days without cuffing my jeans as per usual, and well what’s there to say; pictures speak a thousand words.

The hems are starting to show the good ol’ Japan blue’s lighter shades, heh. Not that it’s a bad thing just part of the progress. It’s still ever so surprising how fast the cuffs get that wear whether you cuff your jeans of not.

The backpockets of the jeans are getting a lighter look slow and steady. I guess due to the fact that I sag my jeans a bit, the fading is focused only on the top of the pockets. This gives me a great transition to the “most faded part of the jeans of the week”, haha… And fast forward…

…The belt loop…

It must be the same darn sagging that has caused the belt loop of my trusted 0901s to have a same blue color as my worn and torn RMC belt. Great Scott!

I guess this is the color that I am after and I am certain it will start to show elsewhere as well. I guess it is rather difficult to fully describe my excitement over an everyday thing such as a belt loop fading, I think most of you can truly relate to the “I think he’s crazy but I try to understand- look” that my significant other had when I found out about The Belt Loop.

All good. This week I also had a revelation over how I will give the 0901s their first soaking. The revelation came to me in a form of browsing a particular Momotaro brochure. Certain Momotaro jeans have a peculiar aspect that is getting their one wash finishing from Marine essence of Seto-Sea water, which is very rich in minerals.

Well I decided to perhaps start the swimming season here in Finland and give my Momotaros their well earned soaking sometime in July at a selected lake location here in Finland, heh. It might not be Seto-Sea Water, but should be nice. Let’s see if I have something as nice to post of my jeans as the brochure scan below.

With that I leave you to get on with your Friday activities, whether it’s at work, at home or somewhere else. Enjoy your weekend to the fullest and let’s see what the future has in hold for us and our jeans… Peiz…
