Journeys and bleached denim

Hi Y’all,
Today started very well with the Lakers getting 2-0 lead in the NBA finals. They’re on their way, heh.

During the weekend you always have a lot of time to check the stuff on the web and this weekend what really stood out as the trailer for Louis Vuitton’s new Journeys -campaign. The campaign pays tribute to the 40th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission or should we say landing on the moon.
The campaign brings together Buzz Aldrin, the second man to step on the surface of the moon. Jim Lovell, commander on the notorious Apollo 13 mission who commandeered his crew safely back on earth. And Sally Ride who in 1983 became the first American woman in space.
I guess what’s so inspiring about the campaign is that it revolves around the theme of journey or personal journey. Every journey is different. Some journeys smaller than others but every journey plays a significant role in an individuals life. Some of our journeys have just started while some have already ventured beyond skyline to the great unknown. LV is doing their thing and the trailer is rather inspirational, in my opinion at least.

Another thing that caught my eye during the weekend were few brands/articles advocating the re-emergence of the bleached jeans. I guess this is a step back to the 80′s, haha. Nothing ever changes does it. I would not see this as a new trend for that it is not. Personally I am not a huge fan of bleached denim but I guess the “I accidentally spilled bleach all over my jeans look” works for some (or does it REALLY work for anyone?). But recycling old ideas (bad or good) is a rather normal and usually great if done right. But I let you be the judge of whether this is in or out, heh.

On that note I have even heard of denim-overalls making a comeback in the fashion scene. Perhaps I will get back on this topic later.
But that’s all for now. Remember to cherish the journey you’re on, look at the big picture, step outside the box and crawl out from under the coconut shell and be easy. I’m out…
