Hi Y’all,

Supposed to post some sneaker updates today but decided to halt that for now as nothing particularly special has caught my eye recently. Well that aside few days back I did bump into a Paris runway special of a well new way to rock your sneakers. Not sure what to call it but the best way to describe the style is; cut away the toe of the kicks and voila you have sandal sneakers! The funny thing is that I am pretty sure I have actually seen this somewhere else as well. Nevertheless pictures speak a thousand words.

The thing is I was having small discussion recently about how the fashion industry possibly brings out more and more ridiculous items to test how the consumers receive the new innovations. I mean the above style is just one example in a long list of supposedly hot trends that are basically nothing more than marketing research on the consumers and their tolerance level. I mean all you have to do is dress David Beckham into a sarong and you get at least small number of people doing the same, heh.

Last night I went to see Bruno, and the suit made entirely out of velcro very well describes the above mentioned. It has been proven in many instances that the consumer’s mind is easily influenced as the people have a need to fit in and get social acceptance that then leads to improved social status. But do we really want and need to see these often funny items introduced during the Milan fashion week or are we just subjected to the marketing force behind the fashion labels?

Each their own and the sneaker sandals might be a prelude to clog style kicks, who knows. Runways are always full of funny stuff but some of it should probably just stay on the runways (and often does). But you tell me, are the shoes in or aus?

I’ll post some stuff on the other shoes that somewhat caught my eye in a bit but need to get some other stuff done first.

Have no fear I’ll be back…
