Kicks – The SB edition

by on Aug.25, 2009, under Headlines

Hi Y’all,

First off, just have to say that although I do call this weeks kicks edition the “Skateboarding” edition I do have few other kicks to share as well, heh.

Well well, another day another struggle they say, but it’s not so much of a struggle here, it’s another step of  The Journey. The weekend as well as Monday went by in a flash with plenty of work to do and in that haste I unfortunately neglected my blog updates. My 0901 update is on its way but just need to put the pieces together, heh. Well just to say I am excited about the ongoing project of mine, keeps me busy and I love it.

This week’s called the SB Edition for the fact that a lot of the stuff that caught my eye recently have a bit of skateboarding feel. Starting off with a pretty nice Nike SB ad.

Nike SB recently brought out the Zoom Air Paul Rodriguez III, featured in the ad.

As Paul himself put it, all the fat has been trimmed off the shoe. I love the fact that all of the recent SB -kicks are pretty slim where as just some years back I remember the skateboarding shoes were just big and often butt ugly.

Nike SB’s other releases include Eric Koston Dunk Low. This shoes is stated to be released in several colorways and include suede upper with accents.

Adidas is keeping busy working on their SB selection. Their recent releases include the SB Nizza Hi Tim O’Connor (black suede with yellow accents) and Dennis Busenitz (brown suede with red accents). The shoes do not look half bad and make a nice alternative to Nike SB.

Off Space Age. Just a while ago I wrote on the metallic fad, and on that note I introduce the Lacoste Space Pack. The space inspired shoes come in three different forms called Missisippi, Revan and Esteban. The shoes are not all that bad I actually like these a bit more than many of the recent Lacoste shoe releases I’ve seen.

Last but not least we have the new release from Bape’s URSUS collection. The Apesta Hi Duck is a traditional canvas high top. This new release somehow reminds me of some other shoe very similar to this… oh yes the traditional Converse All Star, heh.

You can’t argue the shoes do look alike. I love my Converse and I like the new Apesta, but I would think I like it a lot on the basis of my liking to the traditional Converse. Still the shoe looks good and there is no need to hate. The naysayers are gonna be getting some oil to their fire as many have argued that Bapes shoes are not much more than modified AF1s. Like I said, don’t hate, heh.

Alright that’s all for now but I should be back with more shortly. Don’t hate and stay safe, I’m out…
