Look good in your denim – get awarded
by Taavi Kuisma on Oct.26, 2009, under Headlines
Hi Y’all,
Super Sundays. Damn, this Sunday I feel as if time is has slowed down. It’s only 7pm and I
feel as if the day has been moving in slow motion. Well this could be partially because of the seasonal change as well as change in time. We’re now in the Winter-Time and that means all of the clocks were turned one our backwards. One hour more to sleep, “jet lag” for the rest of the day, heh. So if you haven’t changed the time on your clock, do that now. Of course if you’re staying in the region where this does not apply, forget what I said.
Something positive to lighten up y’all day. Japan’s most colorful first lady (as she is referred to), Miyuki Hatoyama, the wife of Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama recently won an award for… trumpets… for looking good in her jeans. According to Mari Yamaguchi of Associated Press, Miyuki Hatoyama, 66, won the annual prize given to celebrities who look best in denim, along with four Japanese musicians and a Taiwanese actor. (Yamaguchi, M. [AP])
She was awarded for “wearing jeans gracefully, with a bit of revolutionary touch”. The price was awarded by the Japan Jeans Association. We need to get this association to Finland as well. Or if one exists, the association needs to pick their game up, you hear? Hatoyama commended her award by stating, “I have long wished to win the prize, as I’m a big fan of jeans.”
This is really something inspirational. I mean, wear your jeans with pride. Who knows, you might get awarded for your looks. Nordic Denim House congratulates Mrs. Hatoyama, way to go!
We are getting ready for another week of celebration. The reason? Well, the way I see it, every day on this journey is worth celebrating. Keep a positive state of mind, no matter the circumstances and have a prosperous week ahead.
