Copper G003-MB – Week X

by on Mar.21, 2010, under Headlines

Week ten of my project has been a turbulent one. At least what comes to my jeans that is. But it’s all good and part of the process. I mean these jeans will literally go through every element in the book (maybe not fire). From sub zero temperatures to the warm summer days and so on. But let’s not go there yet. Right now we’re still in March. March 21st and it’s as soggy as it gets out there. All that snow is now trying to find a place to run forming puddles all over the roadside. The jeans actually had an intimate meeting with a particularly cunning puddle the other day. As a result the right leg of the jeans (half of it) was totally “soaked” and the left one to almost same degree. The drivers are not making it easy for the pedestrians either.

Before the sogginess of the past few days we had a real snow-storm the other evening. We were having a nice walk outside once the wind and snow calmed down a bit. It’s like a winter still and we’re already beyond mid-March which is supposedly close to Spring season.

When walking home I decided to take a short cut. The short cutting was cut short by the fact that I was knee deep in the snow.

My Momotaros made a mark on a snow covered bench in the park.

So here we have the Copper Label jeans at their current ten week state. They have still avoided the washing machine and much damage. I think the picture tells it all. They’re developing very nicely. Fortunately the indigo of Momotaro Jeans is the stubborn sort and does not fade away after a splash of water otherwise my cuffs or jeans’ legs would be a lot lighter following all that snow and puddles.

The back shows wallet fading on the back pocket. If I kept my wallet in the right back pocket the Momotaro’s signature stitiching would run a bigger risk of coming off. But it’s still intact, just like the jeans.

Since it’s the tenth week I thought of adding in the inside-out pictures as well. The blue lines show the creased spots which also feature much of the fading.

One more close-up of the back of the jeans. Only yesterday I realized that there is an interesting two-tone fading on the back of the jeans. There’s a clear fading line that goes about an inch below the waistline. This is something I don’t remember happening with my previous project. Very interesting, heh.

That’s the last denim update of this week. Remember to take part on the poll (top right of the page) and let us know what you think about the Momotaro Jeans Europe Label. I’m of to enjoy some Sunday’s family time. Life’s good so appreciate it. I’m off, peace.
