Film Update
by Tuomas Jaalinoja on Jun.11, 2010, under Entertainment, Headlines
A little while ago I wrote about Joss Whedon’s awesomeness. Now you’ll get a look at his work on Captain America, as well as Kenneth Branagh’s vision of Thor.
Cap seems to have received some of that “realistic” looking I-carry-my-gear-in-this-I-really-do look that was used (with disastrous effects) in GI Joe. I have to admit that I like it. Whatever they’ve done, all the liberties that are needed to be taken with the comic-to-screen transfer, seems to be right on track. It may be a tad early, but I am hoping for a The Dark Knight-esque treatment of Marvel’s most iconic character. With Whedon being involved, it’s hard not to let expectations rise.
Barring any problems in shooting, post-production or, Norse Gods forbid, any last minute conversions to 3D, both films are out in 2011.

For a look of what’s happening on the set of Thor, check out the video below. Comparing the clip to the concept art, my initial reluctance of wishing to accept that this film would be any good is diminished. Natalie Portman had something to do with it too.
