Time is of the essence

What’s good everyone?

The sun’s shining again and life’s good. Busy, but good. Somebody said that if you’re busy all the time you’re doing something wrong, but I’m pretty sure that person has not walked a day in my shoes. But hey each their own, I actually get kicks out of doing several things at once. Multitasking is fun but multitasking just like many other things are all about time management, which leads to another watch or “things to wear” edition.

I have referred to my Pimpin aint easy SS on several occasions but one thing I forgot is that some of you might not be familiar with the watch. So here’s a little something on that special watch on my wrist.

The watch is actually an adaptation of a Tokyoflash classic called Pimp Trip the Light Fantastic.

The Pimpin aint easy SS is one of the most well known and popular LED watches from Tokyoflash Japan and features 72 bright blue LEDs with stainless steel casing. The watch was redesigned from its predecessor and supposedly had a better fit in addition to the modern look. For me it was love at first sight after I got an email about “crazy” Japanese watches from my wife. I actually ordered the watch directly after seeing the picture. It’s simple but I can tell you, still gathers looks like it did over four years ago. One of the reasons I got the watch was that it was actually pretty clear in comparison to many others. The first line showing the hours and the rest representing individual minutes. Clear right? Another thing is that it shows “pimp time” every two minutes after 6 pm until 1 am with the whole screen flashing in bright blue color (it’s all about the details). I have been wearing the watch on daily basis ever since I got it and I will do so until I for some reason get another watch or this one fails on me (touch wood).

The thing I most like about these watches is the limited production and once they are gone, they are gone. You can of course still admire the watches in the Tokyoflash Watch Museum but getting them gets more expensive and difficult. I actually regret not getting few of the watches no longer available, but then again I got a nice watch I wear daily, why would I get another one? But the same applies to all the gadgets, kicks and jeans I stock up and perhaps never even wear. Everyone needs a hobby right? Actually I have been watch browsing more than I have in years. Not just Tokyoflash ones but more “grown up” watches as well. A hint to my wife reading this, wink wink.

Another pick of the week is the new comer from the same direction. The Kisai changing lanes is one of the more interesting new arrivals from the label.

I like the style but I would imagine this takes a minute to learn how to read the time. But it’s the same with every Tokyoflash watch. Ah, where are the good old clock hands? Nah, evolution is the key to survival and progress. Although I really appreciate the vintage styles and flashy Swiss watches, I would argue that these fresh and flashy time pieces create even more impression. They also work as a great ice breaker. I still remember few meetings where I met corporate executives whose first question was about the watch. It’s very easy to carry the conversation from there on.

No matter what’s on your wrist, it’s all good as long as you stay on time.  That’s all for now. Check the video posted by Tim on the Soap Box. Hilarious, probably not responsible but hilarious nonetheless. Be easy everyone, I’m off, peace!
