Naked & Famous x Momotaro Jeans – More details

What’s good everyone?
First and foremost, Happy 4th of July to all of our American friends!
Yesterday went by in a jiffy. I will get into those details on my Copper Label project update later tonight. However, this Sunday “morning” edition is dedicated to the soon to be released collaboration between Canadian Naked & Famous brand and Momotaro Jeans. I gave some sneak preview pics of the collaboration (courtesy of Hypebeast) just few days back and promised that I would have more to come. I’m a man of my word and here are some more detailed pics of the collaboration courtesy of guys at Naked & Famous.
Familiar Momotaro Jeans patch on the inner side of the waistline.

The “hardware” includes Momotaro Jeans copper rivets with Momotaro’s peach design on the rivet bottom.

More Momotaro specific “hardware”. Momotaro Jeans style rivets

Momotaro Jeans buttons with Naked & Famous patch on the inner side of the waistline.

The leather patch features Naked & Famous and Momotaro Jeans details. The patch stitching differs from the Momotaro Jeans as it is stitched from the top and bottom only.

The signature pink inseam is one of the Momotaro specific details although the selvedge differs from the basic Momotaro Jeans lines. Do note that there are plenty of Momotaro Jeans designs without the pink selvedge.

The jeans will be released around October/November just nicely for Autumn/Winter season. The price will be released later although you can expect to see the price to be close to the lines like Vintage Label and Going to Battle Label of our current Momotaro Jeans designs.
I like the way the jeans look and this will be a must buy for those who have been looking for a “slimmer” Momotaro Jeans or Naked & Famous for that matter.
As promised I will be back later with an update of what went on yesterday together with the latest Copper Label updates.
Have a great 4th of July everyone! Lounge if you can but be easy no matter what. I’m out, peace and prosperity!

Hi there, I’ve seen & touched these @Capsuel mens week in Paris (we had our own booth there, so I took the opportunity to visit their booth). Honestly, I wasn’t to impressed and do prefer a real Momotaro. I dunno why, finish is superb… I think N&F have had this jean sewn together by Momotaro, the cloth looked N&F to me. Do you have more info on this, as they (N&F) weren’t transparant at all on this coöp…?
They also showed me their newest 27oz jean, a 32oz is up next… man, unwearable (tried it on, so so rigid, like thick cardboard)…

Haha, yeah. Basically the jeans have been built/produced by Momotaro in Kojima. Special case as usually for N&F the jeans are produced in Canada though the fabric comes from Japan. According to my sources the denim was chosen together by N&F and Momotaro specifically for the purpose of this collaboration. Since we’re talking about a skinny fitting jeans. The denim needs to be suited for this purpose. I have not seen the jeans first hand but when we talk about skinny fitting jeans, you need to use special fabric. For instance usually for these type of jeans the fabric is 95% cotton and 5% elastic material. Momotaro have done 100% cotton ladies line jeans which use specific type of long fiber cotton to give more flexibility but still it is always challenging to produce a high quality, flexible fabric that is still comfortable to wear. So although I am sure these jeans have different fabric from the usual Momotaro Jeans you might have come across, I’m sure it is of high quality.
On that note, I will post more details as these emerge from N&F and Momotaro camps.
P.S. I can imagine that 27 oz + jeans are on the limit of wearability, heh. Novelty items for that matter. More like a mantel piece than jeans to be worn on daily basis, heh. I would imagine those jeans need few washes to start with. 27 oz denim would be good for something like jackets however.
