Baseball

by on Aug.11, 2010, under Headlines, Social Media & Advertising, Sports

I like baseball, although the sport is not big in Finland I can appreciate the sport for the hand-eye coordination and skill it takes to master the sport. Also you tend to see some awesome stuff in baseball games, just like with any great sports. Take for instance the fantastic catch by Masato Akamatsu of the Hiroshima Toyo Carp. The dude clims the wall like Spiderman and eliminates Shuichi Murata’s chances for a homerun. Even if you’re not a fan of baseball or Spiderman, you got to hand it to the guy, the catch was amazing.

Baseball related stuff has dominated my morning browsing and the second half to this morning edition is dedicated to “Bo the Bailer”. Why the name, well a dude bails out from incoming baseball and lets his girl take the hit! Who ever said chivalry was dead? Dude, you’re supposed to take a bullet for your girl and this one wasn’t even a bullet. No doubt Sarah will have some thinking to do, but hey it could have been the lights that disorientated Bo.

Yesterday (or the day before) I wrote on our Twitter and Facebook page that “The World Still Needs Heroes”, and I mean it. Bo’s heroic antics have already earned him a dedicated Facebook Page and 30 000 vies on YouTube. Damn.

Via Mashable.

Thank you Spiderman and Bo for making my morning so much more entertaining. Oh as a bonus, do check out a story about a girl who quit her job after her boss called her HOPA. Read the story on The Chive. All I have to say to that is, what a way to go and I salute you for your creativity.

I’m off to Copenhagen and I guess my next post will be coming from Denmark then. Peace, I’m out!
