Mastermind Japan x Globe-Trotter Luggage

Come January 2011 (touch wood) we’ll be embarking on a journey back to Malaysia truly Asia, my second home. Needless to say the trip is already on our minds and the mental preparation has started. Naturally I will be traveling lightly, the plan is to only carry my trusted vintage duffel bag with some necessities, notebook and one baby, So we’re talking about hand luggage. Not sure about my wife though. Although she is also vouching to travel with light luggage only, I don’t know it could be that she will have enough luggage for the three of us. But that’s all good as long as your luggage is well suited for the journey.

For many luggage is just luggage but I don’t think so, I think luggage is an essential piece of any journey. I mean you pack the things you want to carry on your journey to the other side of the world so you want to make sure these valuables reach their destination safely. It also helps if you’re traveling in style, luggage included. This brings us to mastermind Japan x Globe-Trotter collaboration. An awesome suitcase, probably the coolest I have seen in a while.

It goes without saying that the mastermind touch gives an added feel of luxury to any product. But Globe-Trotter has a very strong background in hand crafted luggage collections as well. Haviing produced hand made luxury luggage since 1897, the British company knows a thing or two about suitcases. The collaboration includes numerous fine details, respective to both brands.

Naturally the mastermind Japan skull and bones theme is all over the suitcase, but what’s nice is that it only occupies the inside, where as the outside is left more plain and luxurious.

The all black coloring naturally fits the brand’s signature approach. Although I don’t know the price of the bag, I would imagine it will not come cheap. Still this is the luggage I would gladly carry with me no matter where should I make my way to.

So what’s your take on traveling and luggage in general? Does any bag do the trick, or should the bag be a special carry all that travels with you as a part of the journey? Do let us know if you have a special piece of luggage or if you have any opinions on this. Life’s good, the sun is shining. So peace to you and yours and I’m out!
