Stuffed toys for your brand conscious child

It’s no secret that my household is anxiously getting ready to the arrival of our baby. The months before the arrival are always just to say interesting, with so many things to prepare. The term “blowing money fast” becomes reality when you start checking rims for your baby carts, organic baby carriers, video cameras, you know, all the essential stuff.
The next step is getting the toys for your baby. The stuffed animals all the cool stuff. Don’t even get me started on LEGOs and action figures. Damn, few more years to wait. But first before the action figures there is the stuffed toy phase, you know the soft toys that the kid is not going to eat directly. The market for baby/kids’ products is growing along with the adult market with the kids becoming brand conscious from early on. Not that they care directly, but the parents will care for them.

Artists/Designers (or the companies representing the artists) as well as the brands are offering products for the parents whom want to make sure their kids play in style. I am sure I will get back on the topic soon enough but just wanted to share the latest thing I came across on Hypebeast. Takashi Murakami’s Kaikai Kiki line of toys brings the creatures known from his artwork and Louis Vuitton spots to your household. Although some of the toys are very moderately priced considering you pay almost 100 € for even some normal teddy bears. But still the thought of “high fashion toys” might be strange or even scary to some consumers. Will the peer pressure extend to the kids as well? Nevertheless, this is another way to keep up with the Joneses. I have nothing but appreciation on Mr. Murakami’s work and the toys don’t look bad at all. If you’re interested you can get the toys at Colette. Hey, they could even match your wife’s hand bag. Just think about that! Peace, I’m out!
