Marshmallows Dissected

Not sure who started the trend or is it just something everyone (even artists) remember from the school years, but it seems that the dissected toys are the in thing with toy makers and sculptors alike. I keep referring to the Kaws dissected figure as something like a benchmark, but in the past few years we have seen quite a few of our favorite characters’ sculptures dissected. Last one I reported was Mario, and today I just came across a character everyone from my generation definitely know. The smiling Destroyer of the Worlds, the Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters.

Credit for the creation goes to Jason Freeny and the creation got me smiling. Freeny has collated the sculpting process on his Facebook Page which you can see below as well.

What’s even better is that apparently the marshmallows from the movie are available and packed with caffeine.

These marshmallows are apparently “delicious gourmet marshmallows” and officially licensed Ghostbusters product. Interesting enough, being that the sweets are collector’s item(s) the box itself is rubbery with marshmallow feel to it. For those interested the box is available via ThinkGeek and goes for $19.99 and each box has 24 candies. Pretty cool, huh?
