We’re here!

We’re here. We arrived in Malaysia Wednesday afternoon around 2 pm Malaysian time (7 am CET). Naturally it took few more hours before we got home but we’re healthy and happy after a 27 hour trip. We feel somewhat blessed as it was not the easiest journey with three flights, 8 hour transit time in Abu Dhabi and we were traveling with our 2 month old son Maxwell. It has been quite a hassle with so many things to do and I was also unable to upload the pics from my phone until now, so this post comes few days late. Still better late than never.

First off the flights were superb. We were lucky since none of the flights were fully booked so there was always some extra space. I have to give credit to Etihad Airways for their service. At every turn their staff accommodated to our especially Maxwell’s needs. We got nice “baby seats” which meant even Maxwell’s daddy had good leg space on every flight.

The transit in Abu Dhabi went by in a flash with so many things to check out. Somehow I got an impression that folks there are happy. I mean that was the first impression, with plenty of smiles and nice people. We were spending time in a local Burger King, when Maxwell had a hissy fit and cried for like 15 minutes non-stop. It was pretty much the only hissy fit he had the whole time. And this was because he was hungry and tired after 12 hour trip. Nonetheless, he was crying out loud as Jeci Chao was getting food for him and I was left there with a crying baby. The staff, especially this one lady came to check up on us few times and they even gave Maxwell a plush toy, which he likes very much as it makes sound. Maxwell finally calmed down once he got his milk and all was well, but it was nice to see that people cared and gave us a smile instead of asking us to leave with our crying baby.

Once we arrived in Malaysia we got a very nice welcome as the local immigration staff was kind enough to let us use the local passport line for immigration even though Maxwell and I have Finnish passports. Seems that everyone is charmed with Maxwell and his smiles.

Babies can make traveling easy in some sense. But I can imagine not every trip with kids goes so smoothly. But we got to Malaysia, we got all of our luggage in one piece and once we got here we met up with one of our customers to whom we brought a pair of 1005SP Middle Straight Momotaro Jeans. It was great meeting him in person and I am sure we will meet again at some point of our journey. Glad to hear you like the jeans Mohd.

Maxwell will probably need some time to get used to the new climate but he’s being a sport about all the fuzz. The food is one of the things I really missed about Malaysia so it’s just fitting that we went to have a nice dinner for our welcome. I feel like a kid in a candy store with the supply of food. Need to calm down so that I don’t start gaining mad weight and stop fitting my size 38 Momotaro Jeans, as those are the only jeans I have for the trip until I get my new project in February/March. More of that project later.

In the evening I was already so tired as I did not sleep many hours in the past 36 hours prior to the trip. So I probably still look like the panda on my shirt. I need a pair of new stunner shades to cover my tired face. At 11pm I lied down for a second, lights out, total KO. Technical knockout if you ask me. Now I have some time to rest and maybe even relax. I will be checking my emails but it will still take some more time before I can get to my “normal” blogging and working rhythm. I guess it makes sense considering that we “lost” a day in transit here. But all is well in Malaysia and I’ll be posting more updates soon. For now, I’m out. Peace.
