Project Wear and Tear has kicked off awesome and needless to say we are really happy about the reception and the positive feedback we’ve gotten. The second week went by in a rush with so much happening around us and this seemed to be the theme across the world. As Ika found out when her jeans met up with rush, and icy pedestrian. The second week also included introductions including our Amsterdam Connection Martijn and Julia, our third lady. Starting off with Martjin, he’s a “viscous denim junky. While others around me smoke hash and weed in mega size bongs I peel little threads from my selvedge denim, roll ‘em up and torch these suckers with a blow torch ahhhh… my denim fix!!!” Needless to say more. Martijn is wearing the KIKS TYO x MOMOTARO JEANS collaboration jeans in the project. Denim that on its arrival got titled Jacky Chan, click here or the picture for the full story. Julia was actually daring enough to throw her fresh pair of Momotaro Jeans Ladies’ Line into the the tumble dryer, thus getting what she called, perfect fit.

Julia is NDH’s friend from Malaysia who is currently staying in Finland as an au pair. She’s very much a denim person and she herself put it, “back in Malaysia, despite the hot and humid weather, I wear jeans everyday. Basically, I live in jeans and I won’t stop wearing it. It’s so easy to pair it with so many different types of garment and shoes.” Click here or the below picture for Julia’s introduction.

Nora posted a nice set of pictures of her 7003SP GTB Ladies’ Line Momotaro Jeans. Pictures speak a thousand words and after the initial struggle, the jeans seem to be fitting nicely.

Rob’s 0901 Battle Armor titled Mr. Freedamn is getting worn, not yet torn but Rob also posted nice set of pictures of what he called Preppy Heritage Look which mixes pretty dam nicely with the jeans.

The week (or the beginning of it) revolved around the arrival of the KIKS TYO x MOMOTARO JEANS, two of which got greeted by customs but one pair found itself safe and sound to the awaiting embrace of Martijn. The first one to get his collab jeans was Tim from Germany, I believe he was also among the first in the world (outside of Japan to get his jeans). Needless to say he was happy about the raw pair of jeans that got to him in the beginning of last week.

I myself finally got my jeans and titled them Hulk as the jeans are truly Hulking XXXL size 38 jeans that just happen to fit me. Big thanks to both brands for the jeans. As per my understanding these are the only XXXL KIKS TYO x MOMOTARO JEANS in the world, so definitely a unique pair. All of the project jeans are actually custom made with special inseam lengths to fit the participants. Again, shout out to KIKS TYO.

Project Wear and Tear is all about jeans. But it seems that in addition to all the fun, the project is starting to be about food as well. With pictures like Penang Mee from Mario (wearing “Luigi” pair of Naked & Famous x Momotaro Jeans collaboration).

I have a feeling we will see more food pictures in the future, but at this point it’s an all open game. The denim is evolving fast and the project keeps getting better, so be sure to follow Project Wear and Tear.
