With majority of businesses at some point you have to rely on third parties for this and that services. Hosting is just one of those things that’s much easier handled by someone else. When something happens on that third party’s side it’s like all hell breaks loose for a moment. How do you solve these matters? Stay cool (as cool as you can), make few phone calls and do what you can on your side to solve the issue. Even if it takes your entire Saturday.

Yesterday was one of those days when everything that could go wrong, certainly went. Our sites were down for a moment, regained after few hours of maintenance work but then there were still few other issues to resolve. Issues affecting our blogs. Thus the silent blog yesterday. I guess the highest cost during these incidents is the lost time. In my line of work I seldom have “enough” time to spend with the family and when you have to spend an entire day resolving matters it has an effect on things.

Nonetheless, this morning everything seems to be working and we’re back to working order. Interesting enough yesterday it seemed that every other system was also against us. Systems such as our alternative blog with Tumblr. See below screenshot for reference.

But it’s these small bumps that make the story/journey that much more interesting. So let’s see what the next steps bring along and thanks for your patience during our offline period.
