Journeys and luggage

This weekend is a bit more chilled than the past few with my book project waiting for publishing and other projects progressing at a nice pace I have actually had a chance to spend more time with the family, which is nice as my sister is visiting us in Malaysia.
Being that she’s here and all, I took half day off from all of my work and took her to KLCC (Petronas Twin Towers) for some sight seeing and shopping. Being that the mall hosts majority of the luxury labels it’s not a surprise we visited quite a few of them. Although I could go on and on about the differences between craftsmanship prices and styles I will focus on this particular picture on visualizing the expansion of the local Louis Vuitton store.
Pardon the slightly out of scale size of the picture as I writing this post through my phone.
Nonetheless I spent quite a few minutes checking the visual which pretty perfectly describes the thrill, unpredictability and sense of adventure tied to traveling or any journey for that matter.
I like Louis Vuitton’s dedication on the journeys and being a luggage brand they embrace the aspect of excitement tied to these journeys. Every little trip can result in unforgettable memories and experiences. Every journey is a combination of moments and elements that make this journey worthwhile.
It’s funny that I’m writing this at a hotel in Genting Highlands, another trip, another journey. Although I hate packing and quite a few aspects of preparation to any trip, there’s still something special about accessorizing oneself for a trip, packing all the right elements into one’s luggage/bag. My choice of bag needs no introductions but I would not mind another bag for the journeys I’m taking on.
Although brands like Louis Vuitton have a certain image that people either love or love to hate, it does not erase the fact that they make pretty awesome luggage. Although I cannot/choose not to afford majority of their luggage, I am somewhat tempted to get one of those bags and put it through one hell of a journey, just like I do with my jeans. It would be great to see if the bag would manage the trips like the pieces one can see in the Louis Vuitton Journeys exhibition or books. I guess the only way to find out is to get a bag and start another project but that might have to wait.
On the flip-side, my quest for a new messenger bag continues as the Gucci Bag I was planning to get did not meet my requirements or standards. Awesome look in the picture, somewhat of a let down in the real. Let’s see what’s to come of this bag project.
