My Mittens

I respect quality a great deal and I try to take this aspect into consideration in all of my clothes shoppings. As I’ve heard, the poor cannot afford to buy cheap, and I have realized it is quite true. I’m a poor poor student who wears out her clothes at a reasonably quick pace. I have to find something, which looks good and whose quality matches its price, preferably not too expensive either. That’s a challenge.
I own these amazing leather mittens that I have used for ages. I think I was younger than ten years old when I started using them. And I still wear them in the winters! They’re a bit small but that’s okay. Long sleeves needed only.

As you can see, the left mitten looks a lot more worn than the right one since I tend to carry stuff in the left hand. The decorative fringes are so dead and the lining is not very white anymore. Nevertheless, I love these mittens and I’ll wear them every single winter until they get broken and unrepairable!
Just recently I bought new mittens at a fair in my hometown. They’re leather, too, but a little different from my old ones. Let’s see how I fancy wearing them… I don’t know what’s the term for “kelsi” in English, but I found a picture of a women’s Harley Davidson kelsi-jacket.

Nice one Naja. I believe the word you are looking for is Shearling. At least it’s a shearling leather jacket and the gloves seem to be shearling gloves.

Thank you, Taavi !!
Tried googling but with no results.. Shearling sounds logical. Though, I couldn’t find neither kelsi nor shearling in the dictionary. :/
