Messenger Bag

The older you get the more you start to appreciate the intangible Christmas things such as time spent with the family. This Christmas was special as it’s been over almost a year we last stepped in Finland. It was good time with the entire family together. Christmas or any holiday for that matter is so much more than the presents. But the presents do count as well. Even the presents given this year were special to say the least. The theme was definitely vintage goods in form of watches, jewelry and a bag. This edition is dedicated to that bag a present from my family.

This messenger bag, or as I was told a camera bag dates back to 1980′s and has sen the world like another special bag I introduced over a year ago. The bag was acquired from Florence or a boutique in a small town near Florence by my mother. A really nice present from the family. I have been looking for a perfect messenger bag for daily use and this one is awesome. Being that it has seen a trip or two, there were (and still are) few things to fix. Like the zipper for instance.

I got one of the zippers replaced and might replace the other one as well as both of the zippers have been torn in use, the other one is still pretty much intact so left it untouched. These are minor details, but what counts is all the little details the bag is full of. The canvas interior is in perfect condition. The bag is perfect for pretty much carrying anything smaller than a 13″ laptop. My 13″ MacBook Air can still fit in the bag, but I think it’s more suitable for smaller daily stuff one carries around like camera, phone, iPad, sunglasses etc. The bag was apparently bought as a camera bag or so I was told but what I see is a messenger bag that will be used by myself in my day-to-day business.

The bag has dated well and I really like to worn & torn look and feel the bag already has. I might need another bigger bag for my Mac but for the time being I am happy with this bag.

Nice. They do not make bags that last like this these days. The stitching is good and leather texture is well maintained. Do take great care of it. A nice coating of mink wax will do magic too. The brass buckle still looks good. Your mum sure knows how to treasure her stuff.
Yep, the other special bag, I also like the leather tone colour.
