Time flies, Project Wear and Tear kicked off over a year ago and based on the comments and feedback, it has been a fun project that has produced some really, really impressive results. That alone is enough to make this project a success. The major following throughout the project is just an icing on the cake. The project has progressed to the last stretch and we’re letting you, our audience decide the winner. Although I feel everyone participating in the project is a winner, we’re still sticking to the original plan and crowning the winner in one month’s time. Little Aladdin on a Denim Carpet as one of my friends put it. Rather nice way to describe the latest visuals for the Northern Denim Co. Lot 3010. You might have seen the lead visual on our site but now you can see the original picture in a new German magazine called The Heritage Post. We’re still waiting for our copies (available through NDH) but a spread featuring Northern Denim Co. got online yesterday and it has been “liked” rather nicely.

Christmas is just behind the corner and what better way to celebrate than booking a short notice flight and take your family to Finland for the holidays? Yes, Kuisma-Chao & Co. will be making a trip back to the home of Nordic Denim House, Northern Denim Co. and most importantly my home. This does not mean Nordic Denim House is taking break. It’s business as usual, but I’ll probably reply emails with slight delay due to the transit time which is only 16 hours this time around.

It was one week ago that we launched the little project/brand world now knows as Northern Denim Co. The brand is not just any denim brand, but a Finnish brand. The brand was kick-started and the first products ever to carry the title were also designed in Finland. I guess it also adds to the Finnish factor that the Founder is Finnish. However, what sets the project apart from many other Finnish brands is that the products are 100% produced in Kojima, Okayama in Japan. The limited edition Viper 002 is designed according to the Viper fit but instead of the Cone denim used with X001, it uses Kaihara’s Brown Denim. The brown denim is non-selvedge 12oz 100% cotton fabric that gives the jeans a unique appearance complimenting the great it.
