Another epic battle is brewing between two opposing forces. A battle like no other. Only weapons, brute strength and the oval pigskin. Superbowl is one of the biggest avenues not just in terms of sports but also advertising. Volkswagen made an impact with their ad last year and they seem to carry the Epic Battle theme to this year as well. I mean just have a look at their teaser. Canine chorus anyone?

The sinking feeling. The moment when you realize you just screwed up and now need to put your game face on in a matter of seconds to amend the situation. Familiar circumstances to anyone with sports background but most likely familiar to pretty much anyone as we all tend to screw up something every now and then. Nike visualized this feeling pretty well in their latest Air Jordan ad. Although the video is obviously about the flight, I paid more attention to the sinking feeling. Cool ad nonetheless.

I’m sure you all remember the short film Black Mamba directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring Kobe Bryant. Well Kobe is back in action (although the NBA season has not kicked off yet) and stars in Milano Kalibro Kobe. A film that I really hope gets more airtime than just the trailer posted online.

According to Highsnobiety, the film aslo features “athletes from Nike crew including Marco Belinelli, Claudio Marchisio, Marco Materazzi, Gennaro Gattuso, Gianpaolo Pazzini and Alberto Aquilani.”

Although I am not a real big fan of longboarding this video made me change my mind. I stumbled across this piece of quality entertainment and gave it a chance and so should you! Watch it since the vibe, the tricks, the music, the speed are fantastic.

Every now and then some creative agencies come up with such a ludicrous idea that someone will definitely produce it for the entire world to share. One of such ideas is DIRECTV’s Football Cops. I mean what they portray as a trailer for an upcoming action drama featuring Eli and Peyton Manning as a crime fighting cops who use most unconventional ways to catch the bad guys. Pretty inspiring ad from Adidas following up on their latest All In campaign. THe ad clip features Derrick Rose of Chicago Bulls who just became NBA’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the season. The ad plays on the notion of question(s), “why can’t I be the best player in the league? Why can’t I be the MVP?” Well D. Rose got his answer becoming the youngest MVP in the NBA history. Dedicate yourself to the game you play and never look back. Awesome stuff.

I find it rather hilarious that a viral video of a 12-year old with impressive American Football trick shot skills has gotten folks all defensive. I mean people just hate to see people being good at something, especially kids. It could be that the tricks on the below video are just an elaborate scheme, but even if the video is a sum of repeated routines it does not erase the fact that this kid has skills when it comes to football. Don’t forget he’s only 12 years old.

The last two trailers have promised a lot with stellar cast of Kobe Bryant, Bruce Willis, Danny Trejo and Kanye West this film should be one of the biggest Nike ads in history.
