Stella Artois 9 steps
by Taavi Kuisma on Oct.16, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines, Social Media & Advertising, Travel, Food & Drinks
Being that it is the month of OCtober, which to some indicates the joyous time for Oktoberfest, that annual celebration of our favorite beverage, the beer. Times like these it is not surprising that beer brands are pushing their products most just tying together with the German tradition, but others pursue their beer promotion in a slightly different manner. Stella Artois is one of these brands. Whether you like the beer or not, you have to agree that their latest online ad is pretty dope. The creative minds behind the video obviously took the WTF approach when they scripted the Stella Artois 9 steps. You know it’s a cool video when you watch the entire 4,5 minutes “without blinking”. Check the video below, take notes and perhaps you’ll pick up something. If not, at least you’ll still be entertained…
World Gone Sour
by Taavi Kuisma on Oct.05, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines, Social Media & Advertising, Travel, Food & Drinks
Man, on days like these you just want to sit back, relax, watch a good movie and maybe clear a bag of candy. Candy like Sour Patch Kids. I have to admit I have not come across ads for Sour Patch Kids before, maybe because the candy is not that big (or not available) in Finland. However, today I came across a particular video by none other than Method Man promoting the brand and the on-going World Gone Sour campaign. I can’t even hate, and those feeling like hating, don’t. Method Man is doing his thing, even when rhyming about candy. You be the judge but this ad got me checking the rest of the stuff the brand has been doing and it’s not all that bad.
KAWS x Hennessy
by Taavi Kuisma on Jul.26, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines, Travel, Food & Drinks
This is pretty cool. A collaboration between iconic cognac brand Hennessy and artist Kaws. Few days back they held a special launch party at New York’s New Museum to celebrate the launch of a limited edition bottle designed by KAWS. I like the bottle art and it’s great to see these brands taking initiative to look outside the box and re-invent themselves with modern art. Good look Hennessy.
Sneaker Birthday Cake

It’s nothing new that sneaker enthusiasts might like a birthday cake designed after their favorite shoe. We have seen the same done with gadgets and other items alike. But it’s this particular sneaker birthday cake that actually caught my attention. Why? Because it’s Adidas Kobe, the shoe I wore back in the beginning of 2000′s. A shoe which I liked very much, although it was definitely flawed. The major issue was the breaking lace loops. I had like 3 different pairs of this shoe and all of them broke the same way. Still although it looked like something from a Sci-Fi movie (inspired by Audi TT) the shoe was good for me. And the cake doesn’t look bad either.

Hulking Vegemite
by Taavi Kuisma on Mar.28, 2011, under Headlines, Travel, Food & Drinks
Today’s breakfast was different from the ones before this. Today I had a chance to taste an Australian “national dish” vegemite. I’m sure most of those who have visited the Aussie Land know this brown gooey stuff and let me just say it’s an acquired taste indeed. Actually I kind of liked it. For me it tasted like very salty cheese. Not sure if that’s the intention but I had vegemite breakfast with a cup of coffee on the side. So what’s so good about vegetate? Apparently it’s a; rich source of Vitamin B, rich source of folate and contains no artificial colors or flavors. Just a pack of vegemite madness packed in a tube.
DaftCoke

Coca Cola has collaborated with numerous artists of different genres producing limited edition Coke bottles and cans. Let’s be honest, some of these “limited edition cans” are nothing special and the last designs that actually caught my attention were the vintage bottles coke put out sometime back. The most recent collaboration however is somewhat interesting, at least with regards to the bottle design and the collaborative partner, as Coca Cola has teamed up with Daft Punk.
Will Beams

Drinking is something that should only be done in moderation and very responsibly.
That being said, check out this cool ad for Jim Beam bourbon starring Willem Dafoe. Mainly watch it just for Willem Dafoe.
Highlands

Greetings! I have been a bit absent from the blog yesterday as well as today (although it’s only morning). The reason being that my family and I are currently in Genting Highlands in Malaysia. Unfortunately the wifi connection is limited to selected places (our room not being one of them). Yesterday there was slight delay in my response to emails as well. Apologies for that. Nonetheless, it’s all good here and I try to get back on the blog a bit more today. Feel free to keep dropping me lines, I will respond no matter whether it’s via email, Facebook or Twitter.
Copper G003-MB – Week LV – Chinese New Year
by Taavi Kuisma on Feb.07, 2011, under Fashion and style, Headlines, Travel, Food & Drinks
This past week revolved pretty much around the Chinese New Year, it’s preparations and the festivities. Needless to say there was plenty to do and arranging the daily activities with all the preparations as well as launch of the Project Wear and Tear, not to mention our blog’s redesign. It was one helluva week. Just the other day I was asking my brother if he has busy day at school forgetting that it was already Saturday. But Project Wear and Tear has kicked off nicely and it’s very exciting to see people from all over the world participating in the project with such an enthusiasm. Big Like.
Growth is everything
by Taavi Kuisma on Jan.03, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines, Travel, Food & Drinks
Life just like everything else is about growth. Not just about growth as human beings but the growth of the environment around us. Visualizing that growth is something that has inspired atists of all kinds throughout ages. The latest “documentary” of this growth that I came across with is the “Growing is Everything” video by Jesse Rosten. “I have a deep affection for the Redwood forests of Northern California. This is my best attempt to capture the reverence I feel when in the presence of these giants.” (Jesse Rosten) I’m pretty sure anyone would be inspired in such an environment. Simply amazing.
