Growth is everything
by Taavi Kuisma on Jan.03, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines, Travel, Food & Drinks
Life just like everything else is about growth. Not just about growth as human beings but the growth of the environment around us. Visualizing that growth is something that has inspired atists of all kinds throughout ages. The latest “documentary” of this growth that I came across with is the “Growing is Everything” video by Jesse Rosten. “I have a deep affection for the Redwood forests of Northern California. This is my best attempt to capture the reverence I feel when in the presence of these giants.” (Jesse Rosten) I’m pretty sure anyone would be inspired in such an environment. Simply amazing.

by Tim on Dec.31, 2010, under Entertainment, Headlines, Travel, Food & Drinks
Hi All,
first of all I would like to give a big shout out to the NDH crew. They are always there for you no matter what. Taavi and crew are constantly striving to keep up their good service and attitude towards it. Dope man!!
Your new year post is such a lovely text to read. Thx for the credits and thx for getting to know you the last months.
I know for sure that 2011 will become a good year for NDH…
Personally I can’t wait to get the KIKS TYO x Momotaro Jeans delivered to my door. It becomes a good exercise in how to be patient, hahaha. But since time is running very fast lately, feb/mar is there soon. Additionally, I can’t wait to get to know the other participants of the fading contest.

Confirmed Capital of Culture events – Turku Åbo 2011
Sounds cool to me. So, if you are planning to travel abroad during your December-January holidays, go check out the Capital of Culture: Turku, Finland. And it would be cooler to walk in the Nordic climate in a pair of new Momotaro or KIKS TYO jeans.
Marshmallows Dissected

Not sure who started the trend or is it just something everyone (even artists) remember from the school years, but it seems that the dissected toys are the in thing with toy makers and sculptors alike. I keep referring to the Kaws dissected figure as something like a benchmark, but in the past few years we have seen quite a few of our favorite characters’ sculptures dissected. Last one I reported was Mario, and today I just came across a character everyone from my generation definitely know. The smiling Destroyer of the Worlds, the Marshmallow Man from Ghostbusters.

Came across a cool article on Complex Mag yesterday. As part of their Style and Design issue, Complex is introducing new style frontiers on global scale. That is they’re looking into what’s happening around the globe. I like that. Act local, think global or better yet act and think global. Yesterday they released an edition on Hong Kong for which they teamed up with Tony Magnetic, the man behind The Year Of… brand and so much more. Click the picture for the Top Ten Hong Kong Experiences. Something to check up next time you’re heading East. You can also find similar article about Seoul and another one on Hong Kong by Kevin Poon of CLOT.

Good morning World!
It’s a lovely (but rainy) day and we’re all geared up for the end of the week.
MayDay/ Wappu is just behind the corner and people are already coming up with excuses to stay home tomorrow. Probably the drinking and partying starts around noon tomorrow, even in the office environments. But have no fear, we’re around Wappu or no Wappu.

Hi Y’all,
I just bumped into the fresh video for Our Dreams from Method Man, Ghostface and Raekwon’s collaborative album Wu-Massacre dropping on March 30th. Interesting enough Mr. Method Man himself is visiting Helsinki this upcoming weekend for a performance, hopefully I can find time to visit the concert. It’s been like a year since the last time I attended a rap concert. That one was by Too Short, and it was a good show. Being that I am quite a fan of the Wu I’m really looking forward to the album.

What’s good y’all?
One thing’s for sure, I am not feeling all too well. Remember when I mentioned that I felt much better already after some rest, well that was what we could refer to as calm before the storm. Damn, that’s all I can say. Three days of seasonal flu ain’t too precious. I’m down with a flu but definitely not down with the flu.
