It’s been long enough since our last Star Wars related post so let’s get back to it with the F/W 2011 showcase of the Adidas Originals x Star Wars. This time around the series is preparing for the cooler times ahead with Empire Strikes Back inspired looks that draw inspiration from the icy planet Hoth. The product photography’s entertaining to say the least. Not sure hwy on earth is the Wampa cutting the lawn but it looks funny. Interesting enough this particular series is becoming a cult “product” although in the beginning (and even now) there are those who see the products as nerdy. Soon one can hang out at the Comic Con repping Star Wars and still looking stylish enough to stand out (in a good way). Visit Hypebeast for more pictures.
Sometimes we get strange advertising, like that serenading unicorn, that is only weird and not even remotely funny. Although Sarah Silverman does make anything she is in 27 % better by her mere presence. Then again, sometimes we get great stories in the shape and form of advertising, like this clip for the Adidas Originals Safety Wear Collection.
Some of you might remember our post from Copenhagen Fashion Week, back in August in which we shared a picture of pretty cool Adidas graffiti art from the streets of Copenhagen. Adidas is an innovator and tied into the street cultures ever since (or before) Run DMC sun My Adidas. Their Current Then, Now and Forever campaign does not leave anyone cold and little did we know that the piece we photographed back in CPH was actually part of this campaign.
It has not been too long since last time we drubbed the bomb on KIKS TYO’s upcoming sneaker & girl releases. Well now that the SS2011 season is officially under way it’s just that these bombs are drubbed more frequently. It goes without saying that two of the most popular sneaker girls of the recent past have been Aya Kiguchi and Kana Tsugihara. So it’s just fitting that these two ladies get the first releases (and pretty much rule the entire season).
OK, I have intended to get at least an Adidas track top so many times, but finding a good one in my size seems to be a challenge to say the least. Hey, I even have a cool Adidas track top for my son, but I’m still without one. However, I might have just come across another good reason to get that track top. How about Adidas x Star Wars White Leather Track Suit? Yeah, my thoughts exactly.
Get your geek on. Literally, for once.
The Spring / Summer 2011 collaboration between Adidas Originals and Lucasfilm Ltd.’s Star Wars, themed “Iconic Fusion”, is a sight to behold – and just as awaited for as Christmas is. Once all that hassle with the Fat Guy in Red™ (sponsored by Coca-Cola©) is over and done with, we can start expecting for the Dark Lord Vader and his little elves in white.
Remember while back when we posted pictures of the new Adidas Originals x Star Wars – “Droid Kicks”. More pictures of the shoes featuring the colorway of the beloved Star Wars droids R2-D2 and C-3PO have been released and below you may find few of these extraordinary kicks.
I know I just posted a nice little Friday Edition, but hot damn I just had to share this one on the blog and I could not wait until tomorrow.
A great Adidas Originals – Star Wars ad featuring Snoop Dogg, Daft Punk, Han Solo Obi-Wan Kenobi, Chewbacca and many more. Being the Star Wars Kid that I am (oh yeah, I do have Darth Vader sounds in my GPS), this one had me smiling for a while. Fanboy stuff, but something everybody can dig. You dig?
