My 0901 jeans crossed the six month milestone some time back and they’re as if they’re getting better every day. I mean I have pretty much constantly worn the jeans for a good six months plus and although there’s always a temptation to get a fresh pair, start a new project and/ or mix up the outfit with different jeans for every day, it’s been pretty much hassle free six months, at least when it comes to the jeans, haha.

Well, enough of that, I posted a pic of the evident weather change at hand in Finland in yesterday’s KIKS TYO brand profile. But today’s looking mighty fine. I am still hearing that there’s snow here and there in Finland, but the weather is fresh (cold), sunny and rather nice at the moment. So decided to bring the jeans out into the wild. Well not that wild, but at least outside, heh. Thought that the sunlight might help show the current stage of the jeans even better than the flash and available light indoors.

The indigo blue fits well together with the seasonal green and yellow colors, heh. I have been rather observant about the changes in front of the jeans, but there’s a lot of color changes in the back as well. Naturally the back pockets and the hidden rivets show signs of wear, but the seat and the marks left by stacking of the jeans’ legs do look rather nice.

The cuffs have gone through a lot and remained pretty much the same. No real breakage although I haven’ been cuffing my jeans for a good while already. I remember from my high-school days, that the broken jeans’ cuffs were the first sign of wear, but haven’t encountered that yet. Needless to say I am impressed by the denim’s durability.

There are new crease lines around the pocket area that I had not noticed yet in the past. The front of the jeans shows most of the wear on the knees and thighs. The lower leg parts seldom get really any fading, except that encountered on the inseam rubbing and in the washing machine. The knees have not stretched much anymore. My last wash in cold water had very minimal effect on the jeans’ color or measurements. Might I say, the jeans are a perfect fit for me now. The good thing is that when starting a new denim project with a pair of Momotaros I have even better idea of the shrinking and stretching of the jeans, and of course the fading. Although these jeans are truly special and for sure one of a kind with the individual fading and such, I can’t wait for the possible denim projects in the future.

That’s about it for this week. I will naturally keep the 0901s in wear and I’m actually excited about the prospect of winter, which gives me a perfect opportunity to introduce the jeans to snow and all that winter has to offer, heh.

KIKS TYO – Dunk Tee featuring Shanadoo

Shanadoo, the Japanese pop-group/ gravure models have already collaborated with KIKS TYO on several T-Shirts projects this year. For the Autumn, KIKS TYO has releases another limited edition tee featuring the group. The Dunk Tee, features a full color high quality print of the group’s members Manami Fuku, Marina Genda, Junko Fukuda and Chika Shibuya in fresher than fresh Nike SB Dunks as well as KIKS TYO tees in matching colors.

KIKS TYO – Force Be With You Tee featuring Marie Sukegawa

The Force Be With You Tee  features one of KIKS TYO’s new cover girls for the 3rd Anniversary series, gravure model Marie Sukegawa and a pair of well placed Nikes in high quality black and white print. Like I mentioned in the past Marie Sukegawa was also featured in the collaborative tees released in celebration of photographer Chihiro Ishino’s exhibition at Parco Shibuya last March. I guess it’s safe to say, we will be seeing more of Marie Sukegawa collaborations coming from KIKS TYO in the future.

But that’s not all, we’ve also got a limited number of KIKS TYO Bo Trainee Tees coming your way next week. So keep your eyes open for that.

Some of you might have spotted that we did some slight changes to accommodate the site to the Autumn season. Well nothing too much, but little details. Change is a part of life and the seasons are doing great job reminding everyone of that fact. Needless to say the colors of the Autumn have very much inspired us. What I’m hearing is that this year the nature’s colors are especially bright in their red and yellow glory as in some years, you only have rain and strong wind that rip the leaves off the trees. Lucky this year we’re experiencing a might I say classic Autumn weather.

We’ve got a lot planned for the Autumn and the upcoming winter and will definitely be keeping y’all in the loop on what’s going on. Don’t forget to check out our Autumn Promotion and be on the lookout for the new KIKS TYO tees and more to come.

First and Foremost Happy Mid-Autumn to everyone.

Saturday, my favorite day of the week. Kept busy during the end of the week as well. The day dedicated to a photo-shoot early this week was cut by an impromptu hail storm and following rain. Well that said, we decided to continue the taking more pics at a better time. The weather has fortunately been pretty nice the whole week. The lady luck was on our side in that sense. Not that there is nothing wrong in taking pictures in pouring rain. The results might actually be quite nice.

Actually you only need to take a quick stroll outside the town and the scene is pretty nice, I could almost say beautiful. This would probably be my favorite season if I didn’t dislike the rather cold weather.

Well clear blue skies and the colors of Autumn.

You can still see green leaves here and there, although they are gradually turned yellow and red and ripped from their branches by the strong winds.

We’ve got majority of the photography done and will be doing slight visual updates on the site next week. Nothing much but some new pics more fitting for the Autumn season. We’ve also got new Tees on coming your way next week, but I will get back at you on that next week. So till then, have a great Mid-Autumn festival, if you’re celebrating Mid-Autumn that is. Another Sunny Friday. October has started all well, though it’s as cold as ice out there. I am sure many would disagree, but personally I find close to 0 degrees Celsius weather cold. We’ve got some changes on the site look coming along very shortly so be on the lookout for that. In celebration of Autumn and the seasonal changes, we’re throwing off an Autumn Promotion to y’all. Today coming at you with a twist. Just sharing few shots of the changing season and hints of the changes coming up on the site. With regards to visuals that is.

The weather keeps changing at an increasingly rapid pace, and before we know it there are no longer any leaves on trees and all we have is darkness, rain and then if all goes well some snow.

Well before everything turns gray and gloomy. We do have a short moment where we can observer the the nature turning from green to yellow and perhaps even red. That said for the Autumn season, we want to bring that element out.

Well, to cut the long story short, we were supposed to be doing most of the photo-shooting today, but alas the weather was not really on our side. It was all bright sunny and great, although a bit cold when we left off outside the town premises and “into the wild” well not all too wild, but outside the common hectic environment. We got started all well and even had some time to take casual shots of the changing environment around us.

Everybody keeps saying that the weather is so good for the season and all that, it’s like everyone’s trying to jinx the weather and turn it bad. Anyways, we got some of the initial photography taken, testing the camera and just having fun, until an older British gentleman walks past and just warns us to hide the cameras as it’s gonna get stormy soon. We had of course seen the dark’ish clouds on the horizon, but did not think much of it, just kept busy taking pictures.

Well, pretty much out of nowhere the wind gets all gusty and grabs the leaves from the trees. Before we know it, it’s all dark like in the disaster movies and we have a nice “little” hail storm over us, heh. It’s been way too long since the last time I’ve been in a hail storm but I can imagine it is a terrifying experience for someone who has not experienced one.

The pic was taken like a minute before “all hell broke loose”. It got ominously dark very fast, heh.

That’s all there was to that particular photo-shoot, cut short by the hail-storm and the following heavy rain. We must continue this later, so hopefully we still see some sun this week. Not that there’s anything wrong with rain, but I just prefer to take pictures in the sunshine, heh.

So will continue on the topic a bit later. October is just behind the corner and we’re ready for it.
