by Taavi Kuisma on Oct.12, 2012, under Accessories & Luggage, Headlines
I like the works of Globe-Trotter. I have shared video and additional information on the detail that goes into production of these luggage. Needless to say, I appreciate the attention that goes into every single detail. The latest collection from the brand does not lack in details either, especially as it’s inspired by the James Bond and the upcoming Skyfall movie.

Few days ago I posted a briefcase themed teaser article titled “What’s in your briefcase?” Today I’m picking up from where I left off. Introductions done, so let’s get down to business.

What’s in your biefcase? – Intro

All of us have a bag of choice for our daily business. For some it’s a messenger bag, for some it’s a sling bag and for some it’s a briefcase or attache. The traditional tool of a businessman without which lawyers and mad men of different industries would have lost many cases or business opportunities. Why, because obviously you need a case for all the files and that case needs to look the part too. Of course times have changed and the essential bag of every working man has turned into back bags and messenger bags that are a bit more flexible and easier to carry around day in and day out.
Messenger Bag

The older you get the more you start to appreciate the intangible Christmas things such as time spent with the family. This Christmas was special as it’s been over almost a year we last stepped in Finland. It was good time with the entire family together. Christmas or any holiday for that matter is so much more than the presents. But the presents do count as well. Even the presents given this year were special to say the least. The theme was definitely vintage goods in form of watches, jewelry and a bag. This edition is dedicated to that bag a present from my family.
Gucci’s Artisans at work
by Taavi Kuisma on Mar.17, 2011, under Fashion and style, Headlines
You know I’m a fan of artisan products and stories behind the goods. Recently I came across a cool picture from Gucci, showing a group of artisans from the 40s’ producing the brand’s products at Gucci’s Florentine workshop. I like the style of the picture, I mean it shows the hand made approach of the brand ever-so-nicely. Gucci’s one of those brands that kind of shares opinions (like every brand) but personally I have been very happy with my belt and if the belt can take the wear and tear it’s put through for another year, I will most likely acquire another one in the future. I hope Gucci will post more pictures such as these in the future as these attract me much more than the fashion show pics they normally publish on weekly basis.
Yuketen Mailman Bag
by Taavi Kuisma on Feb.12, 2011, under Accessories & Luggage, Headlines
I like luggage and bags just like I like my jeans and sneakers. Bags are just functional and I am actually looking for a perfect bag to carry the necessary stuff along when I’m out. I have my duffel bag but that’s just way too big of a bag to carry around on daily basis. Something functional, easy enough to carry around but spacious enough for my notebook, camcorder, maybe an iPad and random stuff you just need to fit in a bag. A messenger bag is awesome in the sense that it’s easy to carry around and still looks pretty professional in comparison to bagback, that just has that “schoolboy” look to it and the backpack just doesn’t fit every outfit in the closet.
Mastermind Villa

Following a post on the Aston Martin inclusive of 6-piece luggage set, I bumped into a collection by mastermind Japan and Porter designed purposely for mastermind Villa on ZOZOVILLA. The bag collection includes a Boston bag, waist bag, pouch, pen case, wallet and totebags all done in signature mastermind style with all black color with skull and bones motif. If you happen to have an all black Aston Martin or any other car that actually fits your luggage, this set of bags is sure to look good in the trunk of the car.
Louis Vuitton at Carnavalet Paris

Louis Vuitton’s city guides are out, their 100 legendary trunks book is getting plenty of attention and now this luxury luggage maker has brought an impressive collection of iconic trunks and luggage to Carnavalet museum in Pari. According to Louis Vuitton, “from October 13th to February 27th, the Carnavalet museum in Paris is showcasing the Saga of Louis Vuitton Malletier, gathering together for the first time the iconic trunks and luggages which have embodied the Art of Travel for more than 150 years.” The video looks impressive alone, so I can imagine the exhibition is even better. So if you happen to be in Paris, check this one out.

Video after the jump.

The Year Of… Tiger Continues

Good morning World!
It’s a lovely (but rainy) day and we’re all geared up for the end of the week.
MayDay/ Wappu is just behind the corner and people are already coming up with excuses to stay home tomorrow. Probably the drinking and partying starts around noon tomorrow, even in the office environments. But have no fear, we’re around Wappu or no Wappu.
