Legends of the Knight – Batman
by Taavi Kuisma on Feb.25, 2013, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
Batman, the world’s greatest detective has had a far bigger impact on people’s lives than probably even the creators of the legendary superhero could have fathomed. The character in his complexity has inspired some, brought courage into lives of those in the need of it and has become a superhero almost every little boy aspires to be. A documentary film project by Brett Culp exploring the power of heroic stories & the inspirational impact of Batman, was put up on kickstarter to gather funds for the feature film. Funds which the project collected in only 48 hours. Epic… Epic like the character himself. A man without superpowers but whose dedication and intelligence (not to mention fortune) make him “the only” man to be able to bear even Superman. As a huge fan and a father of another fan I support this project. Check out the trailer below and find out more details on the projects’ Kickstarter Page.

Okay so we might have not gotten over the whole superhero hype just yet. I wanted to post this awesome clip already some time back but only managed to get a working YouTube clip now. Awesome stop motion animation featuring the Dark Knight, Batman and his arch villain the Joker. The stop motion film created by Hong Kong-based directors Derek Kwok and Henri Wong is a pretty impressive piece of work. The figures used in the film are all by Hot Toys, the company behind some of the most realistic “action figures” out there.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso – Batman edition

Being a superhero like Batman is not all fun and games. You have to put up a successful front and dress the part as well just. What better way to showcase one’s billionaire status than a Jaeger-LeCoultre (and a Lamborghini).
Interesting enough, in the Dark Knight Rises, Bruce Wayne is sporting the same JLC Reverso as he did in the movie Batman Forever, then played by Val Kilmer instead of Christian Bale. Can’t imagine it’s been 17 years already. Sigh…
In celebration of the new movie “JLC has made a limited edition Reverso Tribute To 1931 with a special engraved Bat logo on the caseback. Filled with black lacquer and visible only when the case is “flipped,” this watch pays tribute to the original Reverso worn by Kilmer.” (Hodinkee) No word on whether or not the watch will become available for purchase. Needless to say I like this watch.
Holy showdown Batman!

The Dark Knight Rises is epic. Watched it yesterday, loved it. But you know what else is epic? Burt Ward, the original Robin aka Boy Wonder. The thing with the original Robin is that he might just now fit into today’s crime fighting scene as he did back in the 60′s. Below a pretty hilarious example of why 60′s Robin might have tough time fitting in in Nolan’s Dark Knight saga.
Batmobile convoy

This week will be pretty much full of superhero madness on the blog. Reason being the release of the Dark Knight Rises on Thursday which I will be checking, pronto! Being that everyone is going pretty much bat-ish crazy right now, it’s not a surprise that plenty of Batman related material starts floating on the web. How about an event bringing all of the Batmobiles from the series and movies together? How cool is that?

Just in case you weren’t hyped enough about the upcoming release of the Dark Knight Rises.
Batman – The Dark Knight Rises Trailer 3
by Taavi Kuisma on May.01, 2012, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
Now that we’ve seen the Avengers it’s time to start the countdown for the new Batman adventure, The Dark Knight Rises. Batman seems to have his hands full and his technology stolen with Bane not only forcing him out from retirement but also pushing the caped crusader to his limits. It’s nice that they are only revealing the tip of the iceberg in the trailer thus only getting people more psyched for the film. Check out the new trailer below.
The Dark Knight Rises – Teaser Trailer 2
by Taavi Kuisma on Dec.20, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
The wait is over and we finally have another look at the upcoming Batman: The Dark Knight Rises movie. The second teaser trailer not only shows that Batman has his hands full with Bane and pretty much entire Arkham on the loose but also first view of the Catwoman. The movie looks as dope as one might expect and I can’t wait to see the entire film. But hey, summer’s only few months away…
The Legend Ends
by Taavi Kuisma on Dec.12, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
The rumor has it that the new Batman: The Dark Knight Rises film directed by Cristpher Nolan is based on the Knight Fall comic book series famous for Bane literally breaking Batman’s back. There has been plenty of footage that indicates Batman is not going have an easy win over Bane in the upcoming movie, but the latest teaser poster furthermore indicates that this might be the end of the legend. The Legend Ends sounds ominous but I have faith Nolan won’t be killing off Batman nor breaking his back (I hope). Then again, knowing Nolan’s style we could and should be expecting interesting plot twists in the movie that is to be released on the 20th of July 2012. To further feed the fans’ appetite, there supposedly another theatrical trailer shown before the new Mission Impossibe: Ghost Protocol movie. Another good reason to catch that flick.
