Batmobile or Wiesmann Roadster MF5 V10 Black Bat
by Taavi Kuisma on Nov.16, 2011, under Headlines, Wheels
There are few cars in the world that have a status as high as the Batmobile. Ever since kids saw the classic automobile for the first time, Batmobile has been a dream car of more individuals than just myself. Batman’s choice of wheels has also served as an inspiration to many car and bike customizations out there, latest of which is the Wiesmann Roadster MF5 V10 aka the Black Bat.

Last week or so has produced quite a few updates on the upcoming superhero movies. Not only have we gotten look at Captain America in action, next year’s blockbusters are already taking over the web. The latest and probably the most talked of pics are the ones of Anne Hathaway as catwoman…
The Dark Knight Rises

We have seen the viral marketing effort behind the upcoming Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises. The marketing push for the movie continues with a teaser trailer adding fuel to the fire so to speak. The trailer shows footage from Batman Begins as well as new material that gives an even better idea of how Bane, one of Batman’s arch rivals is portrayed in the movie. Bane is the only villain to literally break Batman’s back and based on the clip, the Dark Knight definitely has to put his game face on to bring down this enemy. Click the pictures to access the leaked teaser trailer.
Bane

I have to say the latest Batman movies are leading the way in terms of viral marketing (for movies). I’m pretty sure those into movies, comics or both still remember the I believe in Harvey Dent campaign for the Dark Knight and the marketing team behind the latest Batman Adventure “The Dark Knight Rises” is following in the steps of the previous movie. Although the marketing has only kicked off, they certainly kicked off in style. Not only did they cleverly tie in social media channels like Twitter and Facebook, but they also revealed one of the most talked of characters on their site thedarkknightrises.com. This character being Bane.
Four Minutes of Green Lantern

This just in: an exclusive four minute clip from the upcoming Green Lantern film.
The trailer was little more than a momentary rescue from the boredom of cubicle life, but this longer clip — not bad. Consider me a future cinema-goer.
Batmobile up for auction
by Taavi Kuisma on Jan.20, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines, Wheels
There are cars and then there are supercars. This time you can forget the Lamborghini or Ferrari as this post is all about one of the greatest cars ever built, the Batmobile. Batmobile #3 from Batman Returns has found its way to eBay and went up for auction. The bidding ended with 25 bids and the car selling for $370 100. Not a bad price for a piece of movie history. More importantly, how cool would it be to drive around in the freaking Batmobile. The car does not have much space for passengers or grocery but with a Chevrolet 350 CU Target Crate Engine that pushes 200+ horsepower this baby can run as well. Apparently the car is not a replica but the real deal and comes with all the certs to prove it. How awesome is this? Too cool for school if you ask me. Reminds me of the scene in Rock Star where Mark Wahlberg races the other guy with the classic 60′s Batmobile. One question remains, why would someone sell such a beauty. I’m sure the winner of the auction will cruise around the city in the Batmobile just for the F of it. I certainly hope the buyer is not rocking a Batman outfit while driving the car. But why not, you’re driving the freaking Batmobile for Christ’s sake. I think the seller put said it best on his eBay pitch, “Don’t let this rare and sure investment pass you by. Only a very small handful of people will ever get to say they’ve owned THE Batmobile.”

Five long years ago Batman Begins rocked our world with Christian Bale’s rasping and glowing red eyes. The rasping has since been implemented by Adrian Brody in Predators (cos tough guys rrrrassp) and the demonic eyes have inspired some nice sculpting. In 2008, The Dark Knight advanced the real-life mythos of Batman by introducing the Joker and Harvey Dent/Two-Face.
Bearbricks for Christmas

Christmas is just around the corner, so have you started Christmas shopping already? Although for myself the holidays seem to be ages away as I have more timely things to think about, it is not stopping brands gearing up for the seasonal celebrations. If you need to get something cool but don’t want to spend your entire budget on a single present, a cool gift idea could be the Medicom Toys Be@rbrick x Dr. Romanelli collaboration with its Christmas themed release. The DRX-MAS figures which are currently available for pre-order include the Nutcracker and Jack Frost. I think only Santa Claus would scream X-Mas more than these two collectibles.

It’s been like over 5 years since it’s release but the movie still rocks and keeps inspiring collectibles like the latest Hot Toys Anniversary Special with 1:6 collectible figure set with Dr. Jonathan Crane aka the Scarecrow and Demon Batman known from the scene where Batman shakes up the hallucinating good doctor.
Kubrick Batman and Superman
by Taavi Kuisma on Oct.25, 2010, under Headlines, Toys, Games and Gadgets
Batman and Superman are probably the most known superheroes of all time and along the years we have seen many toys and figures produced based on these classic characters. Medicom recently collaborated with DC Comics in celebration of DC Comics’ 75th anniversary by producing Superman and Batman Kubrick 1:6 sets with the classic heroes taking a form of Kubrick figure with removable limbs and familiar shape. The characters are inspired by the 1989 movies from both franchises. The figures are definitely collectors’ pieces and should make a great addition to any collection. Awesome.
