We’re living in a winter wonderland and Helsinki is looking as white as it did a year ago. The winter is here to stay and it seems that the public transportation, logistics as well as majority of people are a mess. It never seizes to surprise me how much effect the winter seems to have on pretty much everything when it finally hits us. Still, winter does come every year so I guess ignorance is bliss.
Another two weeks have passed and the jeans continue to evolve. The winter always somehow accelerates the process and I’m seeing more and more changes on the surface of the denim. I think it’s best to show the jeans as they are right now for starters and go into latest changes from there on.
Another two weeks have passed. Not sure what makes the time run by faster than the road runner but it just does. Lately I have spent more and more quality time with the family. As I’m enjoying my parental leave I’ve met familiar faces, been back to my hometown and visited local small town coffee shops I used to go as a kid. I love the fact that some things just don’t change. The same service the same atmosphere and the same quality bread and pastries.
Two weeks of denim wear and tear has just gone by with every minute feeling more like a second. To be honest I have mainly stayed at home lately with my wife and son. Like I said many times, the jeans are a part of a journey and a week ago these jeans experienced the most amazing thing in my life, the birth of my baby boy Maxwell. Needless to say I’m starting a new chapter in my life and that chapter is pretty much focused on keeping it real with my boy.
Extra Large (XL) week. Another week gone and the denim project has progressed to week 40. Mid-October and Finland got its first snowfalls of the season. Winter is on its way and we can see the grounds frosted in the morning.
One week just flew by. I feel as if it was just yesterday that I wrote my previous Copper Label update, but it’s been like a week already. All good though, we’re spending our days waiting for the arrival of our baby boy and the moments seem to dragging right now. Hopefully he makes his grand entrance soon. Message to Maxwell: “mommy and daddy are going nuts in anticipation.” Back to Momotaro Jeans.
The week and the weekend flew by in a breeze and I feel as if there could be one or two more days to these few days of “rest”. I guess the thing is you should actually rest during the weekend to make the best use of it. But we’ve finally moved back “home”. I have not had a chance to post an update of the Momotaro Jeans Copper Label project, since the last post renovation edition. This time, we’ve gotten back to normal routines, in addition to the moving of course. So first and foremost the jeans as they are right now. Just hanging there, waiting for tomorrow.
36 weeks of hard work are starting to show on the surface of this Japanese denim masterpiece. The marks and fine details are tellign a story of its own and the more I wear the jeans the more they feel like a part of a story of my own. This week the jeans have been put to the biggest test since last winter as I have been wearing them on daily basis while doing the renovation on our Helsinki apartment. My goodness, the amount of rubble, stone dust, sand, plaster etc. I’m sure you can imagine the situation. Well the work is almost done now, the place is looking pretty damn good after we finished painting the apartment yesterday.
35 weeks and we’re still running. Going strong even, strong like a two tons of crush!
Greetings! Wow, living life on the edge. I actually took a day off yesterday. Emails don’t count. Those I check every 15 minutes no matter what’s the day. But nonetheless the blog has been rather silent of lately. I have to admit that yours truly has been pushing boundaries of human capabilities on the work front. I mean I call this OTT because it’s not just OT but Over-The-Top OT. Thus a day’s silence. It was an awesome day though, just lounging, watching movies and spending time with the wife. Just awesome. Needless to say, the jeans have been sat on even more than on normal days so I will start with the seat.
