Fading
by Tuomas Jaalinoja on Jun.05, 2010, under Clothing, Headlines
I love coffee. No morning is complete without coffee.
That being said, and before the inevitable music edition, let’s get back on the racetrack of coolness of why we’re here.
You know how Tony and I are always going on about how you should really wear your jeans to the point of them nearly falling off and that being the point when the denim gets really good. The reason we sound like a broken record is that when your denim gets there, they are the coolest, the most comfortable thing you can wear. Additionally, and this is especially the case with raw denim, the jeans begin to reflect how you’ve worn them over time; your very own demented personality.
Jeans, a Faded Blue Planet
by Taavi Kuisma on Jun.01, 2010, under Clothing, Entertainment, Headlines
Greetings,
Today I want to share something special with you and yours. A denim project of different sort. A documentary about a topic very close to our hearts, jeans. Faded Blue Planet is a documentary by film maker Thierry Aguila, a dedication to perhaps best pants in the world, your jeans. Everybody has their denim stories, their first ever pair of jeans, the best pair of jeans or jeans that you wore during a special event.

Huzzah folks
It’s almost time for May Day up here where it’s still snow on the ground. I know. Ridiculous right? Nonetheless, it shall still be an awesome Wappu – or Vappu or Labour Day or May Day – consisting of grilling, sparkling wine, brunches, friends and sunshine. Yes, we are that optimistic.
Momotaro Jeans – Made in Japan – Part 2
by Taavi Kuisma on Apr.07, 2010, under Headlines
Good evening to you and yours!
Lovely but busy day behind us. But I guess I’m seldom that busy that I would neglect my beloved blog. Writing is a form of therapy you know. Today’s a good day to continue on the topic of Momotaro Jeans – Made in Japan. The Part 2 is about the next stage of production, the looms. Once the yarn is spun and dyed it’s time to weave the denim.
Going to Battle Label Wear Project
by Tuomas Jaalinoja on Mar.09, 2010, under Clothing, Headlines
It’s been three months since I got my hands on a pair of Momotaro’s Going to Battle Labels and it’s only fair that you’ll be updated on my wear project. First, let’s take a look at what they looked like brand new:
Wearing Them Out
by Tuomas Jaalinoja on Feb.22, 2010, under Clothing, Headlines, Social Media & Advertising
After Tony’s posts of some brilliantly faded Momotaros (scroll down here), and because of his ongoing personal project, I thought it only appropriate that the denim advert of the occasion concentrates on the actual “wear”.
Intro to denim advertising
by Tuomas Jaalinoja on Jan.16, 2010, under Headlines
Hey guys,
This is the very first post about denim advertising, something we promised to entertain you with this year.
Some of the best advertising any denim brand can get is through its brand image, compiled of course, of the values of the company as well as its history (plus some damn good copywriting, among other things). Momotaro did this great when releasing the videoclips describing the manufacturing process of its jeans. What better way to endorse customers of the superior quality of a product than to actually show how it’s done, rather than merely voicing it. If you missed the vids, fret not, but check out our Media Centre.

Yeah, bub. You heard me. Snikt. Just add them claws and there’s nothing that’d go better with your denim.

Stuff to wear with your denim
by Tuomas Jaalinoja on Jan.05, 2010, under Headlines
Hello boys and girls, how’s it going?
As promised, the first “stuff to wear…” post is here. The other topics will surface later on, but let’s concentrate on this particular item for now.
Got to admit, Saxon had it right: denim and leather really are together. First of all, and I can not express this strongly enough. I love leather jackets. Nay, I love (just imagine a lot of emphasis on that ok?) leather jackets. Even Indiana Jones wore one. So they can not be anything but cool. And they do go well with denim. Let’s leave the colour coding to you guys as I have no doubt that you would be anything less than perfectly proficient with it.
What a stitch
by Tuomas Jaalinoja on Nov.29, 2009, under Headlines
Just had mine removed, which means that the chance to impress the NDH staff with one-armed-man jokes is coming to a close. Just a week or so and this typing thing will have returned to its regular “standards”. Still, I must admit I am rather disappointed. All that operating, poking and prodding and I still lack an adamantium skeleton and some shiny claws. Well, can’t have everything.
