One of the biggest Momotaro Jeans releases last year was undoubtedly the Grand Blue ER007-2B Momotaro Jeans. The Grand Blue 15 oz denim that has a seriously deep (as deep as the abyss) blue color. The blue is achieved by using a warp yarn that uses natural indigo yarn as well as black weft yarn. The deep blue color is ageless and the jeans seem like a pair of heavy oz khakis. But these are still denim, black and blue denim titled Grand Blue. The Grand Blue Momotaro Jeans come in raw form and feature Momotaro’s signature stitching on the back pocket. The heavy oz selvedge denim is woven with vintage denim mills that ensures the ultimate Vintage denim experience.

It was while back when we informed you that we recived more of the Europe Label goods in form of ER007-2B Grand Blue and ER007-3B Melange Denim. Bothe designs have a tight fitting cut, which you might have come across in designs such as Copper Label G007-MB. The tight fitting silhouette is pretty much perfect for the designs and since the Europe Label goods are pretty much as rare as it can get, both designs have been in high demand with most of the stuff sold out already before they reached our office. It’s pretty much same story with the latest batch and since it takes a while to get a proper photoshoot organized we only have few pairs left on the online store. Still better later than never.

Yesterday I gave a sneak preview of the latest batch of jeans we got from our friends in Japan. The parcel included a number of jeans ordered by our customers as well as more Europe Label jeans, ER007-2B and ER007-3B in particular. Since it’s ages ago that I introduced the Europe Label pieces, I think it’s best to include a little re-cap of both designs. Which might I say look as good as ever. First however I would just like to clarify some misconceptions about Momotaro Jeans Europe Label. The Label is not Momotaro Jeans’ Euro Line which some brands have established along the years. The jeans are produced in Kojima, Okayama just like other Momotaro Jeans products. Europe Label is just referring to the inspiration gathered from the European denim market and the brand’s growth across the borders of Japan. The Label is sold in Japan and selected stores worldwide. But now back to the jeans.

What a day. I’m sure you’ve already noticed out “snow warning”. I thought it’s just fair to warn everyone about the possible weather constraints on deliveries while the amount of snow piles up around the world. The weather conditions also affected the latest delivery from Japan. We were expecting to get some goodies from Momotaro Jeans already at the end of last week but due to some unexpected logistics issues the couriers had to postpone the delivery until today. However, the package arrived today and although the box itself was nice the content was even better.

The first day of the Gallery International Fashion Fair is done with and we definitely did not leave the venue empty handed What we have at our hands is the world premiere of the Melange Denim ER007-3B. They were brought to us exclusively from Japan so in the sense Copenhagen is the first country to have them, although they will be shipped out after the Fair.

Weekend…

But that does not mean I’m having a break. Theme of the weekend, get as much done in two days as you possibly can and if there’s time, charge some batteries for next week.

In my last post I promised to publish an update on the G003-MB project. Well I’m a man of my word and this week we’ve got a set of detailed pics that show where are we at with the jeans. The Spring season has granted us a day of sunshine and what better way to take pictures than with natural sunlight. No flash required and every little detail on the denim surface will show itself. Kind of like the moonlight showed the true character of the pirates in “Pirates of the Caribbean”. But no zombie pirates here. Just worn blue jeans. Japan Blue that is.
