So, the world went crazy over the Nike Air Yeezy II sneakers released yesterday. I could argue that the release matches if not tops the Nike Mag (Back to the Future Marty McFly) release from last year. The shoe was released in selected stores worldwide as well as few online outlets offering a raffle for one’s chance to win a pair. A raffle was pretty much the only way for the stores to keep control over the insane masses queuing, and camping in front of Nike retailers for up to weeks. Yes, plural. I personally wished to land a pair of the kicks but as the shoes were seemingly not released at my neck of the woods an online raffle was an only choice, but nnah… not with my luck. Nike did make the shoes available through NikeStore, and as a result their servers, site and pretty much everythign else was jammed for hours with everyone reloading the site every other second to make sure they are there when the shoe becomes available online. The online purchase was made available for US citizens only but that does not stop international buyers from checking the site out. People were pretty vocal about their frustration, anticipation and Nike’s website issues resulting in few rather humorous Twitter updates.

We are just days away from the launch of coveted Air Yeezy sneakers. While I am still trying to figure out where to get a pair since neither Malaysia or Finland are on the list of countries stocking the shoe, Freshness Mag have put up a list of global retailers selling the shoe from 9th of June onwards. Due to the massive demand and naturally limited stock, some stores are limiting the availability to a game of chance. No point of queuing, you go to the store, get a raffles ticket and if you win, you can buy the shoes. That’s how on-demand the shoes are. Well done Kanye, you’ve created quite a hype. So folks, who could help me get a pair?

Yesterday Nike officiated the release of the anticipated Air Yeezy II sneakers and made the sneaker world go a bit more crazy than during your average shoe release. The shoe is stated to hit the stores on June 9th and is taking design inspiration from the 80′s, combines this with Nike Air Tech Challenge II technology and throws luxury fabrication to the mix to make the shoe not just functional but exceptional. The shoe is going to be available in two color ways Black/Solar-Red and Platinum. The pricing of the shoe remains to be confirmed but it would seem the shoe will be priced between 200-300 euros. Even with the slightly higher price point, the shoe will most likely sell out in a matter of day(s).  Well done Kanye.

It’s funny how these artists release one video for a song, following which they release another video just few weeks or months later. I feel Kanye just dropped a video for Monster and now we can all watch the final version of the video. Even grimier horror-fest than the previous one, but the song is dope and I can’t hate on the video either. I guess it’s all about exposure and two videos definitely catch more buzz than just one.

I’m sure most of you caught the trailer for Robert Rodriguez’ the Black Mamba starring Kobe Bryant, Danny Trejo and Bruce Willis. Well this already somewhat epic Nike Basketball production is just getting crazier. It seems that Mr. Kanye West is also starring in the film playing role of the Boss. As Bruce Willis put it in the trailer, “some take souls, some take scalps, boss takes shoes.” So Kobe must fight not jsut for his soul but also for his Nike Zoom Kobe VI kicks because the Boss wants those shoes.

Everybody knows I’m … Monster! Yeah, everybody should know this by now, but this one is not about me myself but about one of the top songs on Kanye West’s latest release My Beauitful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Monster features stellar cast including Rick “Rozay” Ross, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj and Bon Iver. I listened the album already once and Monster is one of those tracks I really liked. The album is really nice, and I’m just glad Kanye ditched the autotune. His lyrics are on point and so is the video, which has leaked online. Kanye West is back as if he was ever gone. His newest single Power has gotten folks talking all across the globe. I mean we have seen some behind the scenes footage and images but now we can also see the video. The video is directed by Marco Brambilla and this digitalized stop motion video’s idea is to bring artwork to life. The video isn’t all too long, but it features Kanye in a black tee and an elaborate piece of jewelry surrounded by ladies (and I guess few dudes) in outfits straight from the Greek mythology. I guess the idea is to put Kanye to the role of Zeus, god MC (no pun intended). I actually like the video, it’s just cool. Kind of like watching a painting on a wall come to life with some nice beats and lyrics on the background. I also like how Kanye rhymes, “I guess every superhero needs his theme music…” I mean it’s exactly what the song and the video are about. Kanye’s theme music. I also love the fact that the song has not vocoder/autotune in it.  But don’t take my word, see for yourself.
