Louis Vuitton Acapulco Monogram Stars
by Taavi Kuisma on Mar.31, 2011, under Headlines, Kicks
If it was April 1st I would have thought this is an April Fools joke. Although it could still be, a leaked one. Louis Vuitton is known for clean sneakers with nothing more than monotones or monogram details at most. The Louis Vuitton Acapulco Monogram Star sneakers are colorful, full of stars with a canvas upper unlike any other Louis Vuitton sneaker I have seen. The sneakers are scheduled to be released worldwide soon, but honestly I’m not a huge fan of this particular design. It’s like the designer tried to stuff all of his/her ideas into one shoe. I wonder who is LV trying to reach with this design? What do you think, is this a right approach for LV or just too much for one sneaker?
Dog Poop Insurance
by Taavi Kuisma on Mar.03, 2011, under Headlines, Kicks, Social Media & Advertising
Ever stepped on a turd on the road ruining a fresh pair of kicks? I’m pretty sure most of us have and it’s no joke, dog poop really ruins a good pair of kicks. The poop and smell just stick there and no matter how much you wash, wipe, brush and clean the kicks, they just won’t be the same. Just imagine if this happened to a limited edition pair of kicks that actually pack a hefty price tag as well. The horror… Sneaker Freaker and their friends in Japan have come up with an interesting concept of insuring your kicks from dog poop. Below video will demonstrate how this works. The video also features voting button so if the concept gets 100 000 votes, a Japanese insurance agency will make dog poop insurance reality. Random awesomeness!
Nike Cosplay
by Taavi Kuisma on Feb.19, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines, Kicks, Social Media & Advertising
Right, so I am not sure why I have never come across this before but I’m happy that I did now. Nike makes nice sneakers and we’ve seen quite a few ways of advertising their shoes but in Japan, they do everything different. I think I should not even spend time writing an explanation as this is something you should just see for yourself. Keywords, Akiba, cosplay, Nike, Power Rangers, madness…
Nike Zoom Kobe V – Team USA
by Taavi Kuisma on Jan.24, 2011, under Headlines, Kicks
I did not make a trip to the heart of Kuala Lumpur and come back empty handed. Although the day itself was awesome enough I did bring along an orange box with a pair of sneakers inside.

Sebago Boots

While you are reading this, I am somewhere in transit to Malaysia. The publishing time is set as “sometime around noon” so even while I am jetting somewhere above the clouds you can still enjoy a daily digest of blog entries. Neat huh?
Sneaker museum
by Taavi Kuisma on Dec.28, 2010, under Headlines, Kicks
Sneaker freaks often have more than one pair of sneakers they don’t even wear. Some let their shoes dust on their shelves and closets but some take their shoe collection of around 1500 pairs and and place it in a secluded 9000 sq ft warehouse for display. Call it a ShoeZeum or whatever you want, but the awesome collection makes most of the shoe, denim or any collections into shame. Simply awesome stuff. The collection includes at least 360 pairs of Jordans presented in a 360 degree angle for every sneaker-head to adore. Got kicks? The owner of this collection sure has.
KIKS TYO – Power
by Taavi Kuisma on Dec.19, 2010, under Fashion and style, Headlines, News & Events
For the upcoming KIKS TYO SS2011 season, KIKS TYO have taken inspiration for a new collaboration with Kana Tsugihara from a classic 1988 Hip Hop album Power by Ice-T. The album cover featured Ice-T’s then spouse Darlene in a white bathing suit with a shotgun. This “weapons” collaboration does not include Ice-T nor Darlene but the lovely gravure model Kana Tsugihara in a white bikini, with a shotgun and a pair of fresh kicks.
Adidas Originals + Star Wars 2011 Collaboration

Get your geek on. Literally, for once.
The Spring / Summer 2011 collaboration between Adidas Originals and Lucasfilm Ltd.’s Star Wars, themed “Iconic Fusion”, is a sight to behold – and just as awaited for as Christmas is. Once all that hassle with the Fat Guy in Red™ (sponsored by Coca-Cola©) is over and done with, we can start expecting for the Dark Lord Vader and his little elves in white.
Li-Ning – Customs
by Taavi Kuisma on Dec.03, 2010, under Headlines, Kicks, Social Media & Advertising
Customs do their thing and I respect that. Sometimes however it seems that they might be overdoing it. Take for instance the “customs agents, played by Gerry Bednob and Donnell Rawlings, who stop a Li-Ning employee bringing the F2 shoe into America. The agents don’t believe they are actually shoes because of their futuristic design and packaging. Until they test the shoes out – and love them. (liningf2)
Stacy Adams presents: The Brockton feat – Street Etiquette
by Taavi Kuisma on Dec.02, 2010, under Fashion and style, Headlines, Kicks
I like Stacy Adams shoes. They make very nice formal/casual shoes which work in pretty much every situation. The first pair of Stacy Adams were snake-skin Larenzo style shoes that still look like million bucks and I’ve been wearing them since 2006. Today I spotted a cool video for Stacy Adams Brockton line of shoes. I really liked the jazzy street smart style of the video. And the shoes look dope as well.
