The tees are limited edition in every sense of the word and you can check out the tees on KIKS’ official website. Personally I really like the graphic design of the tees. It’s not the first time KIKS have produced such collaborations as we can remember the artist exclusive KIKS TYO x JOR x Yuko Ishida tee from while back. Nevertheless I think we can see more of these collaborations in the future. Keep it up guys!

By right it should be all good. The sun is shining and the weather is clear. But hot damn, there is so much to do and so little time. Although some days I just seem to be sporting that “Demon in a Bottle expression” 13 hours per day (pity my wife) nothing cheers you up better than a fresh catalog full of fresh tees and gear. This time I got the joyous email from KIKS TYO regarding  their AW2010 lineup.

I posted some previews of the shirts some time back and now I have more pics of the upcoming Sneaker and Girl line.

Again, these are still preview pics and I will post better pics with more details later. Midsummer’s done for the year and we’re back in action at full force. Moving ahead at full steam, we’ve already got our minds at the Autumn and Fall of 2010. Thinking about where we’re heading and what are we going to do? Who are we going to work with and at what degree. I am not going to give out too much at this point but there are plenty of positive challenges ahead of us.

They say times are tough but we’re still having fun and enjoying the journey to the fullest. Progress process is inevitable and times like these need creative thinking and perseverance. Remember who your friends are and don’t hate but rather spend that time to appreciate. Appreciate the things you’ve done and the things you’re about to do.  But just to say we’re good and we have new ish coming your way soon.

Since we’re on the topic of new stuff and I know most of you are bummed out about the Monday, perhaps even enjoying the Monday afternoon blues, I thought of cheering your day with interesting stuff I picked up from our friends at KIKS TYO. Now what you see here are teasers of teasers but all I can say about this is that I like. I already mentioned Kana Tsugihara and we can see some other familiar Sneaker Girls featured in the upcoming KIKS TYO tees!

I mean what’s really good?

Just writing that got me thinking about an older Cam’Ron ft. Juelz Santana song, Hey Ma. I remember the video used to have a skit with folks going “whazz gooooood” on the phone I mean like “whazzuuuuup” but what’s good. Got it? If it wasn’t this video let me know which one was it. A message to Ma at mi casa. Hey Ma! What’s really good?

Haha, it’s all good. You got a heavy history lesson this morning with the Momotaro Concept so thought of dropping some sneak previews to put balance into things. It’s all about balance, just like this edition is about KIKS TYO. The guys from KIKS have been dropping sneak peeks throughout the day of which I chose few that very much give an idea of what we can expect from the label this coming AW2010. The focus of the latest pics have been on Ms. Kana Tsugihara. A gravure model whose assets have gotten her plenty of attention. She’s one of the latest muses of KIKS TYO and ranks among the hottest as well.

The below pics are but teasers with Kana at her home rocking KIKS tees but all I can say is damn…

Here’s a little video on Kana. I thought the video would fit the day since it’s time for the Game 7 of the NBA Finals. She got game! There was actually another video (or many) about this lovely lady, but since I would like to keep the blog safe for office I chose not to post those. But if you want to see them, all you need to do is YouTube Kana Tsugihara.

I’m sure there are plenty of dudes who would not mind playing 1 on 1 with Ms. Tsugihara. Again, it’s all good. We will keep you posted when we get more pics, details and news from Japan.

The World Cup in South Africa is going to kick off soon and with all the basketball related editions, I thought it would be fair to post a little something on the biggest event in the world of soccer.

The fashion world is reacting fast to this type of event. Premium watch company Hublot signed a big deal being the official time keeper of the games.

It’s obvious the big names like Adidas and Nike are working hard to bring their names up. The once in four years event is huge advertising opportunity to the labels. Plenty of collectibles are appearing on the sports stores’ shelves and the stuff is naturally limited edition since the 2010 World Cup in SOuth Africa is a once in a lifetime thing. The next games will only happen in four years.

Don’t forget, the whole world is watching the games. Below the official world cup commercials of the “biggest” sports houses in the world.

When talking about soccer we can’t forget Umbro, which has been a household name in the soccer scene for ages. I mean I was never too much into soccer but remember having a jersey and a ball by Umbro when growing up. Umbro has a pretty sexy campaign for their World Champions Collection, featuring the seven girls from the seven countries England, France, Germany, Italy, Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay. Can’t hate. After all, sex sells.

It’s not just the jerseys that have started selling but the fashion labels are also reacting to the event. Take for instance limited edition releases from KIKS TYO. The below collaboration tee featuring lovely Yuki Hoashi holding the official world cup ball branded with the KIKS TYO logo. The shirt was limited to 100 pieces worldwide and you can now see “sold out” tab on KIKS’ website (no surprise there).

The other recent KIKS release is the World Cup Boks-Kun tee also featuring a world cup motif sans the girl.

I think that’s enough for our World Cup Edition. I’m sure we’re going to post more stuff as the games get started and I know we’ll be watching. I’ve been rooting for Japan and France since 1998 and still do so. You see, instead of picking just one team, I have too. More chances that my favorite’s going to win.

It’s a sunny evening in Finland. The day’s been full of energy ever since 4am when I woke up to watch the NBA Finals. There’s no hiding it, I’m super hyped about the game and especially about the fact that Lakers drew the first blood taking the game 102-89. I was tweeting about the game and you can check up the reactions to the game at denim_house. There were plenty of folks commenting on the game in a similar fashion, heh. One of the funniest parts was when the court-side commentator/reporter was trying to interview Chris Rock (the comedian) in the audience, he obviously did not want to be interviewed and had his eyes locked in the game. It was similar to a situation when the husband is watching the game on TV and the wife asks something and he doesn’t eve realize she asked something but just answers yeah, yeah. C’mon, I know you know the situation.

But enough of the game, I will be all on the NBA Finals around the next game. So this is not the last you’re hearing about the NBA Finals 2010 on the NDH blog. Oh yeah, whether you care about the finals or don’t let us know who you think is taking home the trophy on the poll below the Soap Box.

So back to the Friday edition which is about Art. Art surrounds us and as they say it is often in the eye of the beholder. This is very, very true in most cases. Take for instance Picasso’s work, I really like his works of art but one of my friends went to see Picasso’s exhibition and his comment was that the pieces looked like something drawn by a 7 year old.

I would love to bring up the art of comic books in this edition, but I don’t want to mix up my comic book editions with this one. The graphic art and stories in the comics have inspired me ever since my early childhood and still do. If I feel like I’m in a slump with some creative work or with my writing, all I need to do is dedicate few hours to some good comic books and I’m back at it like an addict. One artist that in my opinion brings out the comic book elements (manga) in many of his works is Takashi Murakami  whose World of Murakami exhibition you can see at Palazzo Grassi in Venice from 9th till 11th of June.

I’m a fan of Murakami and like the manga inspired colorful pieces he has produced. Not to mention the stuff he’s done with LV. Not that I’m an art expert but I would say he has made an impact in the art world, especially in the Japanese Art scene. Both my wife and me are avid photographers, I guess it runs in our veins. Not that we’re professionals or anything, we just love capturing every moment of this crazy journey called life. I have previously mentioned the works of Yasumasa Yonehara aka Yone and his work at Cexworks. I mean this is another field of art that people definitely have many opinions of. Some could consider his works as pornography, though I don’t see it that way. I mean take a look at some of the pieces, when I see the pics I don’t just see lovely ladies, but art.

It’s the same with our beloved T-shirt labels like erect81, QUOLOMO and KIKS TYO. I have been told that the shirt I was wearing was a bit daring. My usual answer is, oh, is it? It’s art. This added with a smile and people get over it. Yone’s work though quite “daring” do get plenty of attention and celebration. I really liked his work with QUOLOMO, I mean just take a look at the shirt below.

Another art pick of the week comes in a form of a video. A video about BMW Art Car by Jeff Koons. Pretty nice I would say.

I guess the next edition could be on music since Remy’s been visiting the concerts of the likes of AC/DC and I’m heading to a gig by Devin the Dude in a matter of hours. I did a concert recap last year regarding a gig by rapper Too $hort. That was a good one and I expect nothing less from today’s concert. That said, I’m off to eat something and get going. Life’s good oh and GO LAKERS!

We have finally added the new shirts from KIKS TYO to out website.

Pictures never do the shirts justice, no matter how hard we try, still the shirts always look better in person. Below few pics and more details on the new tees.

One of the fresh faces for the KIKS TYO Sneaker x Girl series is Nanami. This young gravure model has that girl next door look that was visualized in one of the new shirts aptly titled, Girl Next Door.

The tee features Nanami rocking a pair of Thailand exclusive CT Air Force 1’s, a KIKS TYO logo tee and denim shorts. KIKS recent skateboard collaborations are also highlighted with the SB theme of the shirt.

The other fresh Nanami shirt is the Black Wings.

Just like the Yuu Tejima collaboration titled White Wings, the shirt is inspired by the Jeremy Scott JS Adidas Wings shoes, which Nanami is rockign in addition to the all white bikini. The picture also features wings drawn by SP Nakatema, a Japanese manga artist. Below a picture of the White Wings just to freshen your memory.

The third new tee is the KIKS TYO Cut Off Tee, a fresh tee for the summer weather.

The tee has rolled sleeves and a colorful KIKS TOKYO text printed on the front.

We’ve been working on the site’s touch ups and more will follow. You can now find summaries of the available brands in the Our Brands section and hopefully ever increasing number of used vocabulary in the What? section. As foretold the weather turned cool and rainy but that’s OK, as if I had any time to spend outside. Mondays often end up being among the most effective days of the week. I remember my old colleague in Singapore always told me how much he loved Mondays because you feel so rested and ready for another week, back then I did not quite get what he was saying but on days like this I fully understand.

I’m in the middle of site updates and other projects but there’s always time for a little blog post.

Few weeks back I wrote a little article on toys, and this commemorates our second toys edition. For this edition I thought of focusing on MediCom and their popular Be@rbrick series of toys/collectibles. Bearbricks are collectible toys produced by Japanese toy producer MediCom Toy Inc. The name comes from the bear meets Kubrick design of the toy that consists of 9 parts: head, torso, legs, arms hands and hips.

The toy has become somewhat a cult icon and due to the limited edition production some pieces are highly sought after.

It’s a relatively simple design but the easy adaptation to any theme makes it a winner. I mean just take a look at the Eco Value Wood 400% Bearbrick made out of sawdust, a collaboration with Japanese online magazine openers and a Japanese charity organization More Trees.

The brand is known for their collaborations with Japanese as well as International lifestyle labels. In addition to the above mentioned I’m naturally going to raise up the collaboration with KIKS TYO, Aki Hoshino and Be@rbrick from few years back. The “design” became a shirt as well as Be@rbrick figure in different color series. If you are interested of the Aki Hoshino Be@rbrick, drop us a note it just so happens that we have few left.

SaturDay is turning into night. That’s all good, spent a day in a birthday party and saw a pair of well worn 0901 Momotaro Jeans that were actually torn and not just worn. At least from the cuffs. Today’s post is not just about that but more of a sneak preview of new stuff courtesy of KIKS TYO.

I took a day off yesterday, a day off from blogging at least. Also I wanted to let the Momotaro Jeans – Europe Label post to sink in. But today I’m back with a vengeance. Not sure why I’m using such a negative word. I’m bringing joyous news that we’ve launched the fresh KIKS TYO tees online for you to grab.

It’s the Hanami season with the cherry blossom festivals held in Japan and wherever the Cherry trees are blooming. The hanami or flower watching is an age old Japanese custom of enjoying the flowery beauty. According to the trusted wikipedia, “from mid January to early May, sakura bloom all over Japan. The blossom forecast sakurazensen, ( literally cherry blossom front) is announced each year by the weather bureau, and is watched carefully by those planning hanami as the blossoms only last a week or two. In modern-day Japan, hanami mostly consists of having an outdoor party beneath the sakura during daytime or at night. Hanami at night is called yozakura or night sakura.”

In celebration of the Sakura, KIKS TYO has released Sakura Tee which features the ever so lovely Aya Kiguchi. Following the title, a full color print of Aya and cherry petals is featured on the shirt front with a pair of Sakura AF1s.

Another newcomer is the Heineken Tee that also features Aya Kiguchi. Aya is featured in a full color print rocking a pair of Nike SB Dunk Low Heineken sneakers and a bottle of the respective beverage.

The shoes swiftly caught the public eye and were swiftly grabbed from the store shelves by collectors and sneaker fans alike back in 2003. The shoe has then gained some media time as eBay recently requested for every pair to be pulled off the auction site.  Heineken was apparently not happy about Nike launching the sneakers without consulting them first. Nonetheless, the kicks are pretty dope and so is the shirt.
