In celebration of this day I thought of posting some sneaky sneak previews courtesy of KIKS TYO from their upcoming Summer 2010 line. What KIKS have released on their Twitter as well as Facebook page indicate that we’ll be seeing more of Yuu Tejima, Yuki Hoashi and Aya Kiguchi shortly.

I’m a Laker fan, but this Suns shot ain’t half bad. All I can ask from the guys at KIKS is that, where’s Lakers at?

I mean take a look at this. Matt Barnes fakes the ball at Kobe’s face and he doesn’t even flinch, haha. I couldn’t help myself. Go Lakers!

It’s a new year and new year means new products. Last time I introduced our new brands QUOLOMO and erect81, but this week I get back to our old friend KIKS TYO and more precisely the new KIKS girl for the Spring 2010, Yuki Hoashi.  Just when you got the first glimpse of the upcoming shirts featuring Yuu Tejima we bring you the fresh face of the Sneaker Girl series and I can tell she fits the league of Yuko Ishida and Aki Hoshino very well.

The new shirts for the month of February include Baby J’s with Yuki holding a bunch of Baby Jordans in her arms.  No further description required, let picture explain the rest.

The other newcomer is is titled Terminator and this time the lovely Ms. Hoashi is posing with a pair of Terminators. As the title says, the shirt is inspired by the Terminator movies as well as the series Sarah Connor Chronicles. The movies ain’t got nothing on this. Lovely.

Let this serve as a sneak preview for what to expect in the not so distant future. Personally I can’t wait to get these shirts. KIKS are keeping it fresh and we do our best to do the same. To be frank, it’s not too hard as the weather has been rather chilly for about a week already. I’ll continue on that note with this week’s Copper G003-MB edition. Christmas is almost here and yours truly has been overwhelmed with Xmas preparations along with the rest of the stuff like work. But all work and no play makes Jack a very dull boy. Well no fear of that, I’m never dull and when you love what you do, work does not even feel like work. But the cleaning, packing and gift shopping, that’s a whole different thing. That said, all these other things have taken a lot of my time so pardon a bit shorter blog post today.

Today I bring you something special. A look into what the near future and KIKS TYO are going to bring us. What I can say now is that next year will feature all new model line up with plenty of fresh designs, hot sneakers and well, hot chicks. First of whom for the Spring 2010 is Pin Up Model and actress Yuu Tejima who was recently featured as a katana wielding bikini (and cowboy hat) wearing zombie slayer in a film Vortex which is (possibly) based on a game under same title. Haha, who needs plot when you have all of the above features.

Well while not chopping off zombie heads Yuu also does modeling and thus collaborated with our good friends at KIKS TYO. Below some sneak peeks of what’s coming up. The tees are hot, needless to say more. These and much more goodies are coming up next year so stay tuned. Oh, and don’t forget to vote for my next denim project.

We’ve almost reached the mid-point of December and I’m only now coming at you with another Kicks edition. Well for December’s kicks edition I decided to do a little follow up on some previously discussed kicks as well as talk about some on-going trends (also previously discussed). But without further due, let’s get ready to rumble.

Remember my recent post about fashion cycles, well the shorter cycles apply at the world of sneaker fashion as well. Nike’s bringing back a classic from 2004, a remake of the original 420 “Hemp” Dunk SB. The kicks have a features an upper made out of this well great natural resource, hemp. It’s not just the shoe world that’s making use of the plant. For instance some denim brands have used the fibers in combination with organic cotton to produce high quality organic denim.

Next up we have the Nike Gucci SB “RESN”, which is named after Girl Skateboards’ designer Sam Smyth’s (RESN being his IBC Crew alias). This is a reference to the shoe being initially designed by Girl Skateboards. The shoe is a well put off comeback for the classic Nike SB design, with the RESN tongue tag being the only “notable” change. However the shoe was quickly sold out everywhere so if you get a chance cop a pair, I know I will. KIKS TYO recently collaborated with Singapore’s Limited EDT and Aya Kiguchi in a one off tee featuring the kicks and Aya in Gucci colors. The design is also in seasonal colors of red and green, Christmas is on its way.

Then a little something on the on-going metallic trend. It would seem that different sources are hailing metallic colors and designs as the in thing this year. Well being that I do not really believe in trends, I find this very intriguing. Some time back I posted quite a few examples of this metallic shoe fad, and here are few more.

And something for the ladies, Nike Womens Aeroflight High is following the metallic trend mixing it up with some glittering leopard print.

I mean if it’s trendy and if it’s selling, go for it. Don’t get me wrong, I do like some of the metallic designs just find the trends amusing. But yeah don’t worry the red shoes you rocked a season ago, will be there next year and the year after that and so on. It’s just the way you rock your shoes, not the shoes themselves. Although having a hot pair of shoes does help.

Next up, I needed to do a little follow up on remy’s post on the Start Wars kicks, I love Star Wars and actually like some of the new Adidas x Star Wars kicks. I feel some of them have more of collector’s value and would find it difficult to mix them up with a certain outfit, unless you were in a science fiction convention, but nonetheless they are a breath of fresh air in the world of sneakers. Oh, and I love the way they’re presented. See pics below.

Last but definitely not least we have the new Nike Zoom Kobe V, the lightest Nike Basketball Shoe ever. According to Kobe Bryant, the inspiration for the shoe cam from the soccer field. “I watch a lot of soccer and have seen how the best footballers in the world make sharp cuts at top speed in lightweight, low-cut footwear,” Bryant said. “The demands they make on their feet and ankles aren’t that different from what I’m doing on the court, yet nobody assumes they should play in high tops.” (Source Highsnobiety) We might just have another classic here.

So I will leave you with this video of Mr. Bryant doing what he does best. All I can say is MVP, MVP, heh. Lakers are doing well this season and I like it. So, I’m off for now. The Finnish independence day yesterday extended my short hiatus from the blog. Happy Birthday Finland 92 years. I took like a day off, which I have not done in a good while. Met some relatives and spent some quality time with the family. Nothing better. It’s funny how it normally takes an event like Xmas or Independence Day to get the family together. But well, those days do feel special as well.

We actually planned to release the anticipated Yuko Ishida – Milk Tee on our site already Saturday but pushed the date back a bit till today. That said, Monday is as good day as any and thus I present to you Milk (Blazer) Tee featuring the ever so lovely Yuko Ishida.

The tee features Yuko in all white bikini as well as a pair of Nike Blazer Milk Edition sneakers. KIKS TYO also collaborated with one of China’s most celebrated skateboard shops, Fly to produce a limited edition skateboard which also features a picture of Yuko Ishida on one side and “spilled milk” graphics on the other side. This is a second skateboard collaboration from KIKS TYO, following the Manik X Yuko Ishida collaboration from some time back.

The regulars might already know that the decks are coming our way but we’ll get back to that later.

It’s been a long time, I shouldn’t have left y’all. But I’m sure remy’s kept you entertained for the past few days. Well for my excuse I have to say the end of the month crunch has taken a bit too much of my time, but I’m still here just haven’t blogged every day. Just to mention, it was interesting to see Remy bring out the Adidas Wings kicks, it just so happens that I will be doing a follow up on the topic in the not so distant future with some additional eye candy. (Wink Wink)

We have officially entered the “last December of 2009″. The year has been fun, it has been hectic and it has gone by way too fast, but I will save the traditional year end BS to the end of the month, haha. What I was initially supposed to mention about the on-going month is that there are more and more “blue moments”. Just take a look at the picture below and you’ll see what I mean.

These all blue moments greet you in the morning and the evenings. Though there is certainly nothing great about 18 hours of darkness per day, unless you’re a vampire. 30 Days of Night anyone?

But I have something that will provide some light to the darkness. (please note that I have noticed that many of our readers are not in Finland per se, but I think it’s nice to share a thing or two about what the biznz in the Northern Exposure)

I present you, Yuko.

Yes, we have the KIKS TYO Milk Blazer tees, and e are contacting those with pre-orders shortly. The shirt will hit the site soon, and will keep you posted on that. I titled the blog entry as Got Milk? Pt. 2, as I know I used the title already once in the past. But I feel it fits, so there you have it.

But to pay dues to the actual title, I thought I could share a few lines about the actual campaign… Got milk? that is. The campaign has featured movie characters, actors, actresses and sports personnel just to mention few lines of famous people, heh.

According to the all knowing Wikipedia, “The first Got Milk advert directed by Michael Bay ran in October 1993, and featured a hapless history buff (played by Sean Whalen) receiving a call to answer a radio station’s $10,000 trivia question (voiced by Rob Paulsen), Who shot Alexander Hamilton in that famous duel?” You can see the video below.

Thursdays are great. You know, weekend is just behind the corner and usually you’re starting to formulate plots for the next few days.

Today was also a mail day, heh. Received a new batch of Tees courtesy of KIKS TYO, thus this Thursday was indeed KIKS TYOlicious.

You know when you get the new stuff coming, in the first feelings you got are excitement and awe for the new products. But there is more to it. Once you have adored the fresh gear, you need to get to work. Check the invoice and see that everything’s in order and then settle the pre-orders and accounts etc. Well let’s just say there is a thing or two to do but it’s all good, because you get your hands on the fresh gear, haha.

Hope you’ve had a fresh start to your weekend. Speaking of fresh, we’ve got a batch of fresher than fresh KIKS TYO -tees on the way. All tees are available in limited numbers worldwide. Just wanted to give you guys a sneak peek of few of  the upcoming designs.

Starting off with a KIKS TYO collabo with Marie Sukegawa, Aya Kiguchi and Yuzuki Aikawa. All three of the models are featured in this limited edition third anniversary tee.

Recent KIKS TYO muse Yuzuki Aikawa is also featured in this magazine inspired tee.

Collaboration between skateboard brand Manik and KIKS TYO produced a fresh skateboard inspired tee featuring Yuko Ishida.

As previously introduced, we’ve got a limited number of the JOR 1 collaboration tees. The shirt features model Yuko Ishida, as well as art by JOR 1.
