The #KobeSystem

by on Jan.14, 2012, under Headlines, Kicks, Social Media & Advertising

What’s the #KobeSystem and what can it do to you? I guess it’s not just what can the system do for you but where do you go once you’ve already reached “the beyond” As Nike put it, “Where do you go from the top? You go over the top. The #KobeSystem: Success for the Successful is Kobe’s winning, results-oriented philosophy on how to adapt to succeed. You’re Welcome.”

Milano Kalibro Kobe

by on Oct.02, 2011, under Fashion and style, Headlines, Sports

I’m sure you all remember the short film Black Mamba directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring Kobe Bryant. Well Kobe is back in action (although the NBA season has not kicked off yet) and stars in Milano Kalibro Kobe. A film that I really hope gets more airtime than just the trailer posted online.

According to Highsnobiety, the film aslo features “athletes from Nike crew including Marco Belinelli, Claudio Marchisio, Marco Materazzi, Gennaro Gattuso, Gianpaolo Pazzini and Alberto Aquilani.”

Sneaker Birthday Cake

by on Apr.18, 2011, under Headlines, Kicks, Travel, Food & Drinks

It’s nothing new that sneaker enthusiasts might like a birthday cake designed after their favorite shoe. We have seen the same done with gadgets and other items alike. But it’s this particular sneaker birthday cake that actually caught my attention. Why? Because it’s Adidas Kobe, the shoe I wore back in the beginning of 2000′s. A shoe which I liked very much, although it was definitely flawed. The major issue was the breaking lace loops. I had like 3 different pairs of this shoe and all of them broke the same way. Still although it looked like something from a Sci-Fi movie (inspired by Audi TT) the shoe was good for me. And the cake doesn’t look bad either.

Conan interviews Kobe Bryant

by on Feb.04, 2011, under Entertainment, Sports

Conan is a hilarious dude and when Kobe Bryant visited his show on it was bound to be good. Not only did they chat about Kobe’s alter ego the Black Mamba, they touched upon Kobe’s rivalries with Kevin Garnett and Shaquille O’neal, the coaching strategies of Phil Jackson and cussing in foreign languages, not to mention President Obama’s trash talking. Conan also introduced Kobe’s new Nike Zoom Kobe VI 3D sneakers. It was a pretty hilarious interview so check it out.

Nike Zoom Kobe VI – Ophidiophobia

by on Feb.01, 2011, under Headlines, Kicks, Social Media & Advertising, Sports

Fear of snakes or ophidiophobia is a very common fear. I mean even Indiana Jones threaded these squamates. Snakes have a pretty bad reputation and Black Mamba might be one of the most feared individuals among snakes. So does the Ophidiophobia also include fear for Kobe Bryant aka the Black Mamba on the basketball court? I’m pretty sure most of the players have mixed feelings of fear and respect towards the the Black Mamba and he would not gotten the moniker without any reason. The latest Nike Basketball ad/clip looks into this particular fear while promoting the new Kobes.

Kobe Bryant is the Black Mamba – Trailer 2

by on Jan.31, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines, Social Media & Advertising, Sports

I’m sure most of you caught the trailer for Robert Rodriguez’ the Black Mamba starring Kobe Bryant, Danny Trejo and Bruce Willis. Well this already somewhat epic Nike Basketball production is just getting crazier. It seems that Mr. Kanye West is also starring in the film playing role of the Boss. As Bruce Willis put it in the trailer, “some take souls, some take scalps, boss takes shoes.” So Kobe must fight not jsut for his soul but also for his Nike Zoom Kobe VI kicks because the Boss wants those shoes.
