Spider-Man is back! Whether the last few Spider-Man movies were to your liking or not, Sony Pictures is again rebooting the Spider-Man series with the Amazing Spider-Man. The movie’s release is just behind the corner, which means we get to see more and more footage of the upcoming blockbuster. The new trailer looks massive and I am definitely looking forward to Spidey’s new adventures. Awesome!
Marvel Maniacs

Are you a Marvel Maniac? I know I am. Which is why most of Marvel related news catch my attention. Especially those mixed with fashion news. I’m sure the recent Stussy x Marvel collaboration is still in everyone’s fresh memory, and now FREAK’S STORE from Tokyo is teaming up with the legendary comic book house for a set of exclusive tees limited to 50 pieces each. The cool thing about the collaboration is that it also involves local creative talents such as Yasumasa Yonehara, Yasushi Fujimoto, Yoshikage Kajiwara, DJ MURO and DJ DARUMA. Basically established names in Japan’s creative scene. According to Hypebeast, the shirts come with, “three cans, one sheet of poster, and a comic book.” The price is 9,975 JPY and the shirts are available from FREAK’S STORE Shibuya only. Good look.
Ghost Rider – The Spirit Of Vengeance
by Taavi Kuisma on Aug.28, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
Being a die hard fan of Marvel comics and having been a fan since my young’n days, it’s very difficult to watch any comic book movie objectively. I remember reading Ghost Rider comic books just hoping to see a movie made of this character. Then, they made the movie. People didn’t like it but I was just happy to see the movie finally being made. Although critics and haters voiced out their opinion of the first edition of Ghost Rider, they are making a sequel. Yes, one of the darkest comic book characters is getting a movie sequel, which I hear is taking a step on the crazy side with the movie being even darker than the previous one.
The Amazing Spiderman – Trailer
by Taavi Kuisma on Jul.25, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
We’ve finally got some footage of the upcoming Amazing Spiderman film which serves as a reboot to the existing Spiderman movie franchise. The trailer leaked online few days back and has gotten people talking. Peter Parker seems to be slightly different type of nerd this time around and Spiderman has a new outfit of course. From what I understand they showed some additional footage of the movie at the Comic Con featuring the Lizard, but I have yet to see this material. Let’s see when this surfaces online (if it hasn’t already) but at least we have the trailer to watch. It doesn’t look all too bad to me, will probably look awesome in 3D.
Shield Action
by Taavi Kuisma on Jul.15, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
There are few weapons as iconic as Captain America’s shield. Well Batman has his batarangs and all sorts of gadgets, Wolverine has his claws but Cap has a shield. A mighty fine shield made of vibranium-iron alloy. A shield that basically absorbs all kinetic impact received and due to its qualities it can also be used as a weapon to ricochet from one surface to another without loss of velocity. Let’s just say it’s more than just a shield. At our neck of the woods we still need to wait two more weeks for the movie but all these clips sure add to the hype. Looking good Marvel!
Captain America TV-Spot

The Trailer for The First Avenger was pretty awesome but the TV spot adds to the excitement. Just the fact that folks seem to find the shield from ice looks really promising as in the movie should follow the comic book storyline, at least the Ultimate one. Less than a month to go, can’t wait!
Captain America – Trailer 2
by Taavi Kuisma on Jun.24, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
Can’t believe it’s almost July. What’s so special about July? The release of Captain America: The First Avenger of course. Just to add to the already massive hype around the movie is the latest trailer that shows more footage from the upcoming blockbuster. It’s crazy to even think that it’s been like 4 years since we were speculating on the Captain America the movie and how it should pen. I mean damn, the new trailer gives a pretty good indication of how the movie will be like and I have to say I like it. So make sure to catch the movie which premieres in less than a month.
S.H.I.E.L.D. Desk
by Taavi Kuisma on May.03, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Headlines
So what type of a desk would you have if you were a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent? S.H.I.E.L.D. is the intelligence organization ran by Nick Fury. S.H.I.E.L.D. stands for Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate or Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division in the recent Marvel movies. So why such a question? Well Acura has teamed up with Studio Dror in attempt to answer this question and have produced a S.H.I.E.L.D. desk.

While back we posted a first teaser about on the upcoming Marvel x Stussy collaboration. Now Stussy has released a preview video on the collaboration and might I say, the collaboration is looking pretty damn nice. At least to a comic book fan. I’m sure the tees will be a hot item also outside the comic book circles. According to Stussy, “the Series One of the collaboration will be released on April 27th. Series One includes nine designs featuring some of Marvel’s most iconic superheroes mixed with Stussy’s iconic graphic language. Series Two will release on May 6th featuring nine guest artists interpreting their favorite characters from the Marvel Universe. Each purchase will include a limited edition pack of Stussy x Marvel trading cards, while supplies last.” (Stussy)
