It’s that time of the year again. People are celebrating the Labour Day, May Day or Vappu as they call it in Finland. A pretty good excuse to get hammered, wasted or just enjoy an evening spent with friends, family or both. Nonetheless this global holiday has gotten people to a party mode so as Kanye West put it, “Let’s have a toast for the douchebags. Let’s have a toast for the assholes. Let’s have a toast for the scumbags, everyone of them that I know…”

Happy May Day!
That’s the message of the day. People have been partying like it’s 1999 since last night and Saturday’s spent eating, drinking and socializing. Needless to say it’s a popular day to have a brunch, throw a BBQ party and just have fun.

It’s almost time for May Day up here where it’s still snow on the ground. I know. Ridiculous right? Nonetheless, it shall still be an awesome Wappu – or Vappu or Labour Day or May Day – consisting of grilling, sparkling wine, brunches, friends and sunshine. Yes, we are that optimistic.

Happy May Day (or Vappu as they call it in Finland) folks! People are still in a carnival mood and the city of Helsinki has been swarming with people with their white caps on. Lucky the weather has been rather warm this year. The party might go on for another day or two but we’re keeping our eyes open…
