Star Wars Uncut
by Taavi Kuisma on Jan.25, 2012, under Entertainment, Headlines
This is way too cool for school. No matter what’s the school. What do you get when you take hundreds, possibly thousands of Star Wars fans and give them a simple task of making a 15 second fan version Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope? Well what you get is Star Wars Uncut. A classic sci-fi film recreated entirely of 15 second fan films. The film is about 2 hours long so I won’t bore you with more words. This is just too great. Well done people.

Be water my friend

I’m a huge Bruce Lee fan. Seen his movies number of times and considering he is among other things Chuck Norris’ mentor, there is probably no living soul that can match his awesomeness. Now Bruce Lee was more than just a kung fu hero, I would argue that he has been a source of inspiration to many people, movies, games and comic books. This year we’ll get to see a new documentary about this martial arts superstar titles I Am Bruce Lee.
The Dark Knight Rises – Teaser Trailer 2
by Taavi Kuisma on Dec.20, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
The wait is over and we finally have another look at the upcoming Batman: The Dark Knight Rises movie. The second teaser trailer not only shows that Batman has his hands full with Bane and pretty much entire Arkham on the loose but also first view of the Catwoman. The movie looks as dope as one might expect and I can’t wait to see the entire film. But hey, summer’s only few months away…
Lego meets Lord of the Rings
by Taavi Kuisma on Dec.17, 2011, under Headlines, Toys, Games and Gadgets
Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit were some of my childhood’s favorite books. The stories took you to another world and got my “juvenile” imagination running like no other book. It was great to see these books grow into blockbuster movies and now children (and big kids) can re-live the adventures with LEGO series dedicated to the Lord of the Rings. LEGO’s site has a teaser picture up and the rumor has it the toy collections will be release next year. The timing matches the release of the Hobbit movie stated to be released next year. Another great series transferred to the LEGO realm. My guess is that we’ll see a LOTR LEGO game by 2013. Time to start shopping LEGOs for Maxwell.
The Legend Ends
by Taavi Kuisma on Dec.12, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
The rumor has it that the new Batman: The Dark Knight Rises film directed by Cristpher Nolan is based on the Knight Fall comic book series famous for Bane literally breaking Batman’s back. There has been plenty of footage that indicates Batman is not going have an easy win over Bane in the upcoming movie, but the latest teaser poster furthermore indicates that this might be the end of the legend. The Legend Ends sounds ominous but I have faith Nolan won’t be killing off Batman nor breaking his back (I hope). Then again, knowing Nolan’s style we could and should be expecting interesting plot twists in the movie that is to be released on the 20th of July 2012. To further feed the fans’ appetite, there supposedly another theatrical trailer shown before the new Mission Impossibe: Ghost Protocol movie. Another good reason to catch that flick.
Danger 5
by Taavi Kuisma on Dec.07, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines
WTF? The keyword(s) of the day. Those harnessing the WTF effect know no boundaries when it comes to creativity and levels of awesomeness. Major shout out to my brother who just pointed me to the latest and possibly greatest web series out there, Danger 5. Imagine mutants, spies Hitler’s diabolical schemes in an offbeat action comedy like no other.
The Expendables 2
by Taavi Kuisma on Nov.19, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines
2012 just got a lot manlier than it already was going to be. We have Avengers, Batman, all sorts of other cool stuff AND Expendables 2 coming up. Expendables sequel’s cast has been up on IMDB for a minute already, but I guess for people like myself it has seemed to be too good to be true. I mean Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Scwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Dolph Lundgren and Jason Statham all in the same movie. How can that not be awesome. With movie like this, you don’t need a plot, story lines, character development or any items that would make a movie supposedly good. This movie is great already. Just put together the most awesome cast in the cinematic history, bunch of cliches, one-liners, big guns and explosions and you have what one might call art. I mean just have a look at the poster. This better be the real deal and not some elaborate scheme because this is too good!
Avengers
by Taavi Kuisma on Oct.11, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
Just had one of those, oh my god, oh my god moments when I realized the trailer for the upcoming Avengers movie hit the web. The trailer looks even better than the sneak preview at the end of Captain America (I know you all knew of the clip already). Seriously summer 2012 is starting to look even better than 2011 when it comes to comic book mega blockbusters. If you don’t believe me, just watch the trailer yourself. I promise you’ll feel like a kid again. Oh my god, oh my god…

Iron Man’s New Car
by Taavi Kuisma on Oct.08, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines, Wheels
It would seem that Tony Stark aka Iron Man is switching the “Iron Man Audi” to a Honda/Acura concept car which is rumored to be a resurrection of the car maker’s NSX line. Hybrid technology mixed with VTEC V6 engine of between 3.5 to 3.7 litres is supposedly firing up this next generation “super car” from the Japanese auto maker. But more importantly, Iron Man is driving the car.
Nike Mag 2011
by Taavi Kuisma on Sep.18, 2011, under Headlines, Kicks
The last day of Nike Mag 2011 auction. You still have a chance to cop a pair of these instant classics. The prices have settled a bit since the first day of auction and you can now get yours for a mere sum of 3000 USD (or even less). Even celebrities like Kanye West and MLB pitcher Brian Wilson (of the San Francisco Giants) have been spotted rocking the shoes. But these people can easily afford the 10k USD shoes. I read that Wilson actually bought two pairs of which one is in use where as other remains in ice.
