Ghost Rider – The Spirit Of Vengeance
by Taavi Kuisma on Aug.28, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
Being a die hard fan of Marvel comics and having been a fan since my young’n days, it’s very difficult to watch any comic book movie objectively. I remember reading Ghost Rider comic books just hoping to see a movie made of this character. Then, they made the movie. People didn’t like it but I was just happy to see the movie finally being made. Although critics and haters voiced out their opinion of the first edition of Ghost Rider, they are making a sequel. Yes, one of the darkest comic book characters is getting a movie sequel, which I hear is taking a step on the crazy side with the movie being even darker than the previous one.
The Dark Knight Rises

We have seen the viral marketing effort behind the upcoming Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises. The marketing push for the movie continues with a teaser trailer adding fuel to the fire so to speak. The trailer shows footage from Batman Begins as well as new material that gives an even better idea of how Bane, one of Batman’s arch rivals is portrayed in the movie. Bane is the only villain to literally break Batman’s back and based on the clip, the Dark Knight definitely has to put his game face on to bring down this enemy. Click the pictures to access the leaked teaser trailer.
Star Wars The Blueprints

I wonder how much more stuff George Lucas has stashed, hidden somewhere from the public just waiting to emerge? The latest Star Wars goodie to activate the fans and collectors is the Star Wars The Blueprints book. This huge opus by J.W. Rinzler is collated from archives of all episodes of the Star Wars Saga. The Star Wars fan boy in me just go a bit excited. The book doesn’t only show how the galaxy far, far away was designed and created but features over 500 photos and illustrations from the saga. Imagine seeing the blueprints of Death Star, Droids, and Millenium Falcon. The visuals are backed up with commentary from the creators themselves as well as the author. Weighing in at 10 kg, this heavy weight is sure not going to leave anyone cold. Did I mention that only 5000 pieces exist each of which is hand numbered. Words aren’t enough to elaborate how cool this is. For more details and visuals visit theblueprintsbook.com.
Ghost Protocol
by Taavi Kuisma on Jul.02, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines
For those not in the know, Tom Cruise is bringing back Agent Ethan Hunt in another edition of the successful Mission Impossible franchise. Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol is bringing title into new heights with Cruise cruising on the side of world’s tallest building as well as performing other stunts that have the insurance agency biting their finger nails. Based on the trailer the movie looks entertaining to say the least. One question though, isn’t Ving Rhames in this one?
Captain America TV-Spot
by Taavi Kuisma on Jul.01, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
The Trailer for The First Avenger was pretty awesome but the TV spot adds to the excitement. Just the fact that folks seem to find the shield from ice looks really promising as in the movie should follow the comic book storyline, at least the Ultimate one. Less than a month to go, can’t wait!
Captain America – Trailer 2
by Taavi Kuisma on Jun.24, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
Can’t believe it’s almost July. What’s so special about July? The release of Captain America: The First Avenger of course. Just to add to the already massive hype around the movie is the latest trailer that shows more footage from the upcoming blockbuster. It’s crazy to even think that it’s been like 4 years since we were speculating on the Captain America the movie and how it should pen. I mean damn, the new trailer gives a pretty good indication of how the movie will be like and I have to say I like it. So make sure to catch the movie which premieres in less than a month.
Bane

I have to say the latest Batman movies are leading the way in terms of viral marketing (for movies). I’m pretty sure those into movies, comics or both still remember the I believe in Harvey Dent campaign for the Dark Knight and the marketing team behind the latest Batman Adventure “The Dark Knight Rises” is following in the steps of the previous movie. Although the marketing has only kicked off, they certainly kicked off in style. Not only did they cleverly tie in social media channels like Twitter and Facebook, but they also revealed one of the most talked of characters on their site thedarkknightrises.com. This character being Bane.
The Adventures of Tintin
by Taavi Kuisma on May.19, 2011, under Comics, Design and Artwork, Entertainment, Headlines
I remember reading all the Tintin comics by HergĂ© and watching the cartoons as a kid. That said I am happy to see “Hollywood” resurrecting this cool character and the entire world of Tintin. Movie masterminds Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson are behind the upcoming 3D/CGI movie featuring the beloved character solving the “Secret of the Unicorn.” Unicorn which in this context is referring to a ship. The movie apparently mixes few different story lines of Tintin so it’ll be interesting to see how it cooks up. The movie features Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Jamie Bell and Andy Serkis to name just few talents. The trailer looks cool and I can’t wait to see the flick.
Horrible Bosses
by Taavi Kuisma on May.12, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines
A title I am sure a lot of people can relate to. The movie featuring Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis as well as Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell and Kevin Spacey as those pesky bosses. Basically the movie explores the concept of nasty bosses, frustrated employees and the question of how far would you be willing to go in order to eliminate the “problem” aka your horrible boss? The movie looks pretty damn hilarious at least based on the trailer.
Jack Sparrow

Right, so by now we know that the Lonely Island does pretty funny/good songs like I’m on a boat and I just had sex. Well this time they teamed up with a musical legend Michael Bolton for something that was supposed to be a club anthem I suppose, until Michael seemingly influenced by the Pirates of the Caribbean marathon had to put his twist to the song. Keywords; hilarious, winning and tiger blood. The WTF moment of the day first thing in the morning.
