Ten Jesus Pieces
by Taavi Kuisma on Dec.10, 2012, under Entertainment, Headlines
If you haven’t listened to Rick “Rozay” Ross’ God Forgives, I don’t album, you should. Not only does it have probably the coolest album title of 2012 but it also packs an impressive catalog of rap tunes. Rozay’s latest video for the album comes in form of Ten Jesus Pieces tells a tale of the price one has to pay in order to shine. In related matters, thought Jesus piece has been a symbolic rap “medal” ever since Notorious B.I.G. wore one, it seems to have become the “it item” in the 2012 hip hop scene. Rappers refer to their Jesus pieces more often than last year and Game even named his latest album after this piece iconic hip hop jewelry. Not sure if anyone else paid attention to that? Anyway, Jesus piece or not hope y’all have a good start to the week. Peace…

What do you get when you put together Jay-Z, Kanye West, Frank Ocean and The-Dream, production by 88 Keys, and video directed by Romain Gavras? Perfect song and video for rainy Wednesday morning.
R.I.P. MCA
by Taavi Kuisma on May.05, 2012, under Culture, Entertainment, Headlines
Sad day in hip hop history. MCA of the Beastie Boys passed away after long battle with cancer. Beastie Boys has had a major impact in the entire hip hop culture and as with passing of every legend, his music lives on. Rest In Peace Adam “MCA” Yauch.
Nas – The Don
by Taavi Kuisma on Apr.30, 2012, under Entertainment, Headlines
Nas is back with a banger from his upcoming Life is Good album titled simply, The Don. The song is pretty dope and showcases Nasty Nas’ liking to finer things in life from tailor made suits to vintage Rolls Royce Phantom, I guess he can just sign the video with a statement, “luxury is just my lifestyle.” A video definitely worthy of those 3 minutes of your life.
Bobby Digital

Shout out to MH for posting this on FB earlier today. I’m a huge fan of RZA aka Bobby Digital but I have to admit I have not seen this particular clip of Bobby Digital cartoon. Bobby Digital lays down some realities of life, the system and how you need to keep your eyes open because they’re watching. Awesome stuff.
I Do

One of my favorite “wedding tracks” has to be UGK’s International Player’s Anthem. Grammy nod and all it’s not a half bad song. Why such start to a post? Well it’s random and today’s a feel-good day. So what fits into a feel good day, is day full of family time and good music.
Maxwell got a new haircut, that would be the biggest thing of the day. It’s actually his first actual haircut. Little trimming doesn’t count.
Martians Vs. Goblins
by Taavi Kuisma on Dec.21, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines
Precious moments. Maxwell head bobbing to Martians Vs. Goblins from Game’s Red album. One of my favorite songs from the album as well. Game and Tyler the Creator both murder the track in almost competing verses with Tyler throwing obvious jabs at Game. This good, somewhat twisted track now has a video that matches the song spot on. Cool beats for your Wednesday morning listening pleasure.
Beats By Dr. Dre Studio Color
by Taavi Kuisma on Dec.01, 2011, under Headlines, Social Media & Advertising, Toys, Games and Gadgets
I guess if you went into details in semantics of the ad you could say something like, “the paint in the ad represents the color(s) the new Beats By Dr. Dre headphones bring to one’s life.” Life is so plain so why not add in some color. My take on this however was that the good Doctor likes to throw paint filled water balloons at people just minding their own business. I really like the Beats headphones, can’t afford a pair (or could but don’t dare to buy to retain domestic peace). Not sure if the colorful headphones would be my thing, being the plain kind of guy but it never hurts to have variety for your products. After all, it would be boring if we all were as plain as me…
Tony Montana
by Taavi Kuisma on Nov.11, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines
The name of the post on the 11.11.11 is Tony Montana. Not just because I just came across a pretty dope song from Pusha T titled Tony Montana (The Official White Girl Remix). But because on certain days you just feel like Tony Montana, you know the World is Yours Tony Montana. I don’t have a tiger or a cash counting machine but still on days like these I do feel like Tony Montana. No particular reason either. It’s just a good day topped with a good meal, time spent with the family. All that…
Nasty Nas
by Taavi Kuisma on Oct.12, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines
Nas has been one of the most iconic, talented rappers ever since his introduction in the 90′s. There are not many who have a bad thing to say about Illmatic or majority of Nas’ production. Paving way to his upcoming 2012 long play, he has released a new video for the song Nasty paying homage to his early days in the rap game. All I can say is that Nasty Nas keeps delivering and this song sets up great expectations for his next release. Good stuff. Video after the jump.
