Time flies, Project Wear and Tear kicked off over a year ago and based on the comments and feedback, it has been a fun project that has produced some really, really impressive results. That alone is enough to make this project a success. The major following throughout the project is just an icing on the cake. The project has progressed to the last stretch and we’re letting you, our audience decide the winner. Naked & Famous Denim brand continues its number of mega collaborations, this time teaming up with another Japanese denim icon, Oni. Oni which means demon in Japanese is a cult brand with a capital C. Much of the brand is shrouded in mystery to the outsiders and even though the owner of the brand shuns the limelight, the brand has gotten a good reputation among the denim enthusiasts. In this collaboration Naked & Famous uses a rare “super slubby and irregular” denim that won’t leave anyone cold.

We’ve posted our fair share of Momotaro (Peach Boy) related “stories” but what about Oni. Oni being the demon Momotaro set out to battle. Oni is not just a character from the Japanese folklore but it also happens to be a cult denim brand from Japan available only in selected locations across the world. Ten weeks in and the project is progressing at a good pace. This week was definitely more quiet than the previous ones, but that’s OK. People are busy and there usually is life outside of denim. The project has reached four weeks. Time has really flown and I can’t believe it’s been already four weeks that the participants have been wearing and tearing their jeans. Of course some participants have been wearing their jeans for longer than that, but the project per se has been running for about a month now.

Project Wear and Tear has kicked off awesome and needless to say we are really happy about the reception and the positive feedback we’ve gotten. Last week marked another milestone for Nordic Denim House with the introduction of Project Wear and Tear supported by Momotaro Jeans, KIKS TYO and Naked & Famous Denim. The idea of the project was to bring together like-minded individuals for a year-long denim project that is at the same time interactive, fun and of course interesting. The idea is to have weekly updates from the participants, whom share pictures of their jeans and the life around the jeans. To keep thing interesting, we added a little Carrot to the project. The “winner”, voted by the readers, can choose a pair of jeans for himself/herself.
