Naked & Famous Denim brand has made name for itself not only by pioneering some of the more unique denim fabrics in the market. They have been gradually pushing the boundaries of the denim industry and the denim public have naturally shown love to the brand. The other thing Naked & Famous has made an impact in is the collaborations.
Time flies, Project Wear and Tear kicked off over a year ago and based on the comments and feedback, it has been a fun project that has produced some really, really impressive results. That alone is enough to make this project a success. The major following throughout the project is just an icing on the cake. The project has progressed to the last stretch and we’re letting you, our audience decide the winner. Although I feel everyone participating in the project is a winner, we’re still sticking to the original plan and crowning the winner in one month’s time. Thus steer towards the Project Wear and Tear site and vote for your favorite from the top three. You can vote using the poll on the top right corner of the site. Right below search and above our support logos.
Naked & Famous Denim brand continues its number of mega collaborations, this time teaming up with another Japanese denim icon, Oni. Oni which means demon in Japanese is a cult brand with a capital C. Much of the brand is shrouded in mystery to the outsiders and even though the owner of the brand shuns the limelight, the brand has gotten a good reputation among the denim enthusiasts. In this collaboration Naked & Famous uses a rare “super slubby and irregular” denim that won’t leave anyone cold.
We’ve posted our fair share of Momotaro (Peach Boy) related “stories” but what about Oni. Oni being the demon Momotaro set out to battle. Oni is not just a character from the Japanese folklore but it also happens to be a cult denim brand from Japan available only in selected locations across the world. So why the sudden interest in the demon (Oni). Well our friends from Naked & Famous Denim have teamed up with the cult brand to bring you and yours an exclusive collaboration simply titled Naked & Famous x Oni.
Everyone seems to be traveling around. Especially these past few weeks have been rather quiet on the project site with majority of the participants globe-trotting here and there. Fortunately there are some spare moments even during these trips which you can make use of in a most productive way.
Ten weeks in and the project is progressing at a good pace. This week was definitely more quiet than the previous ones, but that’s OK. People are busy and there usually is life outside of denim. Nonetheless this week did feature some just to say cool updates such as Ika’s just to say rare acquisition. A pair of Peony Label Momotaro Jeans. The first Ladies’ Line under the brand.
This week’s summary is actually a summary of the past two weeks. A lot has happened and we’re just trying to keep up with what’s going on on all fronts. But before things get really out of hands, here’s an action packed summary of the Project Wear and Tear.
The project has reached four weeks. Time has really flown and I can’t believe it’s been already four weeks that the participants have been wearing and tearing their jeans. Of course some participants have been wearing their jeans for longer than that, but the project per se has been running for about a month now.
Project Wear and Tear has kicked off awesome and needless to say we are really happy about the reception and the positive feedback we’ve gotten. The second week went by in a rush with so much happening around us and this seemed to be the theme across the world. As Ika found out when her jeans met up with rush, and icy pedestrian. Below the result. No serious damage, but a good story to tell. Click here for the Rush.
Last week marked another milestone for Nordic Denim House with the introduction of Project Wear and Tear supported by Momotaro Jeans, KIKS TYO and Naked & Famous Denim. The idea of the project was to bring together like-minded individuals for a year-long denim project that is at the same time interactive, fun and of course interesting. The idea is to have weekly updates from the participants, whom share pictures of their jeans and the life around the jeans. To keep thing interesting, we added a little Carrot to the project. The “winner”, voted by the readers, can choose a pair of jeans for himself/herself.
