This is actually our 666th post, like Jay-Z put it, “I’m on my third six but a devil I’m not.” I guess it fits our “devilish” plans to launch a denim project for the year of the rabbit. Project Wear and Tear as we call it will be a global wear and tear project with participants from all over the globe wearing out their jeans the best way they can. The purpose is not to have just another denim contest, we want a fun project that shows how different (or same) jeans evolve worn by different people in different environments. So the whole point is to have fun and share denim as well as life stories on the side. Naturally every project needs a carrot, thus at the end of the project the readers can vote for the winner, whom will get a pair of jeans of his/her choice. Naturally something from the basic lines, not inclusive of Gold or Silver Label Momotaro Jeans. There is nothing new to the fact that the the Naked & Famous x Momotaro Jeans collaboration has been a success, to say the least. A successful combination of good qualities from two great brands. The release is still new so there are not many wear and tear stories just yet. However our friend Ika told us about this duel she will have with a friend who is also wearing the Naked & Famous x Momotaro Jeans collaborations. They call it the Duel of Naked & Famous x Momotaro Jeans.

As promised, I have added the fresh batch of Naked & Famous Denim on the site. Following the Momotaro Jeans x Naked & Famous collaboration, we’ve brought in two classic styles from the Canadian denim label. The Naked & Famous Skinny Guy and Weird Guy cuts provide nice alternatives to those looking for modern cuts combined with high quality Japanese Denim. I am sure these two styles are not the last ones we bring in from the brand, but for the moment we have these babies in selected sizes and numbers. Seems that the Indigo Skinny Guy Broken Twill Selvedge Jeans are the popular ones as we are running low on the jeans even before we got them on the site. The year has started very nicely in home environment. I was workign until early evening on New Year’s Eve and after that just enjoyed some champagne at home chillign with the family. We did go outside to watch the fireworks, but after few minutes it was apparent that the city had saved money and opted for a very minimalistic fireworks show this year. Next stop, Chinese New Year.

It was just last night that I wrote about the Canadian Naked & Famous brand. I also indicated that it would be any day now that we received a package of new goods from the brand. Well that any day now was actually today as the courier brought us a parcel full of new denim for your consumption. I think it’s nice to keep up some suspense so all you’ll be getting today is some sneak preview pics. Better pictures and details will be posted in the next few days.

So the Naked & Famous package arrived we opened it and the content is great. First batch of the Momotaro Jeans x Naked & Famous (Skinny Guy) collaboration. First off we had to go through what the jeans were all about. The jeans feature an impressive amount of Momotaro Jeans signature details from the pink inseam to Momotaro Jeans rivets, buttons and vintage aspects like hidden rivets, folded/embossed belt loops, tobacco chain stitching and hidden selvedge in the coin pocket. The selvedge is not Momotaro’s pink one but instead a classic red line selvedge.
