Another Monster
by Taavi Kuisma on Jun.05, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines
It’s funny how these artists release one video for a song, following which they release another video just few weeks or months later. I feel Kanye just dropped a video for Monster and now we can all watch the final version of the video. Even grimier horror-fest than the previous one, but the song is dope and I can’t hate on the video either. I guess it’s all about exposure and two videos definitely catch more buzz than just one.

This is pretty much too hilarious not to share. Talking about inspirational cover art. I guess the real inspiration comes from Jaws II poster.
John version 2
by Taavi Kuisma on May.15, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines
Sunday morning (afternoon) and still so much to do. Mornings like these need a power song or two to kick-start the day. So it just so happens that I have given Lil’ Wayne’s John (If I die tonight) quite few spins and interesting enough while the hip hop community thought the video released a month back was the official video, it wasn’t. Weezy recently released the official version of his video for John directed by Collin Tiller. Right, so some things have not changed. Rick Ross is still in a wheelchair (it would be great if someone could explain why?). The wheelchair has spinners. There seem to be more females in this version. The tone is still the same but I guess the video has become a bit more visual. It’s still a dope song. For those wondering the title, John is referring to John Lennon. As the original I’m not a Star and the chorus in this song go, “if I die tonight remember me like John Lennon.” Thus the title. I guess it could have few other meanings but I don’t feel like delving into details that badly. Enjoy the video folks!
John

After a busy day in Singapore (just got back around 1am) there’s no better way to start a day that by listening to a dope song and watching a video for this dope song. Actually the video mixed with the song almost made me crap myself. I mean just few lines from Lil’ Wayne’s John featuring Rick Ross. “Shoes on the coupe, bitch I got a Nike shox.” “Counts the profits you could bring ‘em in a Nike box. Grinding in my Jordans kick em off they might high, swish!” “I’m swimming in the yellow bitch, boss. In the red 911 looking devilish.” The song is actually a cover of Ross’ I’m Not a Star from his Teflon Don album. The song uses the hook from the original featuring lines such as, “If I die today, remember me like John Lennon. Buried in Louis, I’m talking all brown linen.” I do like this song and it somewhat sets expectations for the upcoming Tha Carter IV. I mean why on earth is Rick Ross sitting on a wheel chair in the video? Click the picture to view the video, could not locate embed for the time being.
Can A Drummer Get Some?
by Taavi Kuisma on Mar.30, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines
Travis Barker is a cool dude, producer and musician altogether. Whole morning this morning I have been jamming his latest production featuring Game, Swizz Beatz, Lil Wayne and Rick Ross. Can A Drummer Get Some has a pretty impressive line-up for the remix. None of the rappers are fooling around but the track is just raw, straight up rap. Not sure whose verse was the best, I like the way Rozay kind of steals the show at the end though. He does that on almost every track he’s on. Pretty much same with Kanye’s Devil In A New Dress too. Still Game spits fire, Lil Wayne does his thing and not to mention decent performance by Swizzy. Good stuff.

Video after the jump.

Monster

Everybody knows I’m … Monster! Yeah, everybody should know this by now, but this one is not about me myself but about one of the top songs on Kanye West’s latest release My Beauitful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Monster features stellar cast including Rick “Rozay” Ross, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj and Bon Iver. I listened the album already once and Monster is one of those tracks I really liked. The album is really nice, and I’m just glad Kanye ditched the autotune. His lyrics are on point and so is the video, which has leaked online. Check out the video while it’s still up, they might take it down at any moment.
Hybrids

I love the fact that even the concept cars are getting “environmental” with more and more hybrid concepts by the auto houses. The latest one that caught my attention is Audi with their Audi E-Tron Spyder concept.
Boom

Some days just kick-start with a blast. Boom! Life is full of these Boom! moments, where Boom is just the only way to describe the feeling or moment in time. Nike has realized this with their latest immaterial campaign focusing on the Boom. The ad features not only hip hop artist Rick Ross but also number of athletes from different fields in a concrete package full of Boom. Check it out yourself.
Rick Ross – Teflon Don – Review
by Taavi Kuisma on Jul.21, 2010, under Entertainment, Headlines
Probably one of the most anticipated hip hop albums of the year. I guess that’s an understatement when it comes to Teflon Don. Rick Ross has been taking over the rap game album by album and following the success of his previous albums Port of Miami, Trilla and Deeper than Rap the pressure is on the success of Ross’ latest long play. Ross or Rozay (it’s his nickname) has been through plenty in the past years from revealing his occupational past and feuding with artist like 50 Cent to getting sued by the original Freeway Rick Ross. Still Ros has kept the streets on lock with constant musical drops and strong marketing. His promotional albums like Albert Anastasia EP didn’t leave anyone cold and only built the anticipation for another classic.

Watches – And other cool stuff

What’s good?
It’s all good at my neck of the woods so I hope it’s the same there.
The FIFA World Cup is officially over. Another four years without soccer (except of the Euro Cup, but that’s more or less a teaser for the next WC). But yeah, Spain won, which is nice. Something fresh. Paul retained his status as a psychic know-it-all. I’m sure no-one can doubt his Jedi skills now. But on the downside, a lot of disappointed followers of teamBJ are now left without… well you know it. Great tournament I suppose, plenty of surprises, good games and so much more. As said, only 4 years till next one.
