Stella Artois 9 steps
by Taavi Kuisma on Oct.16, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines, Social Media & Advertising, Travel, Food & Drinks
Being that it is the month of OCtober, which to some indicates the joyous time for Oktoberfest, that annual celebration of our favorite beverage, the beer. Times like these it is not surprising that beer brands are pushing their products most just tying together with the German tradition, but others pursue their beer promotion in a slightly different manner. Stella Artois is one of these brands. Whether you like the beer or not, you have to agree that their latest online ad is pretty dope. The creative minds behind the video obviously took the WTF approach when they scripted the Stella Artois 9 steps. You know it’s a cool video when you watch the entire 4,5 minutes “without blinking”. Check the video below, take notes and perhaps you’ll pick up something. If not, at least you’ll still be entertained…
Bane

I have to say the latest Batman movies are leading the way in terms of viral marketing (for movies). I’m pretty sure those into movies, comics or both still remember the I believe in Harvey Dent campaign for the Dark Knight and the marketing team behind the latest Batman Adventure “The Dark Knight Rises” is following in the steps of the previous movie. Although the marketing has only kicked off, they certainly kicked off in style. Not only did they cleverly tie in social media channels like Twitter and Facebook, but they also revealed one of the most talked of characters on their site thedarkknightrises.com. This character being Bane.
Volkswagen – The Force

Advertisements are great when they’re done right. When you mix enough tongue in cheek, style and just good concept you can do wonders with a 30 second clip. One of the best ads in the recent memory, aside from the ridiculous (in a good way) NIke Basketball ads. Combine a new car, Star Wars and well kids and you get an ad that will gain over a million views on the first day out. Like Volkswagen put it, “the spot features a pint-sized Darth Vader who uses the Force when he discovers the all-new 2012 Passat in the driveway. It leverages humor and the unforgettable Star Wars™ score to create an emotional commercial.”
Old Spice Guy is Back!
by Taavi Kuisma on Jan.26, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines, Social Media & Advertising
“Hello Ladies! As well as men, mammal beasts and the mighty sequoias of the redwood forests, I have returned.” Exclaimed the Old Spice Guy Isaiah Mustafa as he made his triumphant return on the digital waves just a second ago. Indeed he is back. Better than ever, who knows? But his return might be greater than that of Superman few years back. It will be interesting to see how Old Spice brings back the beloved face of the body wash brand. He promises new ads which is definitely nice as the previous ones were pretty damn awesome. Awesome enough to buy a bottle of Old Spice body wash. Did anyone keep count of how long they kept him away? One thing is for sure, Old Spice is bound to get helluva lot more hits, likes, retweets and all sorts of sharing delights across the web. Now look at me, back at your man, now back to me… I’m on a horse.
Old Spice – The Saga continues

So We’ve seen the campaign, heard the results, and shared these ads without friends and family (not to mention colleagues). The campaign did increase the Old Spice sales by what was it 107 %? And the statistics speak for themselves. Probably the campaign of the decade and now it’s over, or is it? What else could you possibly do with this crazy ad campaign to create even more buzz?

You know we love our comic books and comic book heroes. For those who didn’t know, there is such thing as Japanese Spiderman whom pays resemblance to to the beloved superhero. What’s good?
#summertime is the hash tag of the day. Firstly because it is summer, second because it’s still warmer than it has been in ages (in Finland that is). So many people are not feeling the heat (not Miami) and most even complain about it. I say, all you need is a positive attitude good deodorant and most importantly some Old Spice Body Wash with 24 h body odor blocking POWER!
Jedi Mind Tricks

Greetings earthlings!
Saturday morning, and a busy day moving (again) ahead of yours truly. Damn those renovations, why can’t they just let a man be, huh? But I am still in good spirits (no liqueur involved). R is back with a post later today but I thought of posting something that at least I found funny. Remember the Darth Vader for TomTom clip I posted while back? Well TomTom recording sessions are back with Yoda this time around. All of those familiar with this Jedi Master and his antics know what to expect but even if you’re not a Star Wars fan, I’m sure you’re going to like this.

Greetings!
Sunday morning, and the sun is still shining! It’s been pretty good weekend this far trips back home enjoying the day having a BBQ party and just chilling. I was planning on posting a project update on the Copper Label journey later tonight but first just a little something before the Sunday Morning Cartoons (Batman TAS from the 90′s, oh yeah). Being that we have been driving around a lot these last few days a GPS device has been more than useful, especially since I have no sense of direction at all.
Viral Sunday

Greetings!
Sunday’s pretty much the only day of the week that I dedicate to chilling and relaxation. There’s a little work you need to do, but most of the time is spent with the family, watching movies, surfing the web and reading a book (or most of the time comics). Since I’ve had a great chance to spend more time checking what’s good in the world of digital media, I thought of sharing few nice things, that can lighten up your day as well.
