Watchless
by Taavi Kuisma on Mar.27, 2011, under Accessories & Luggage, Headlines
Today was not the best day as I saw my watch shine for the last time (for now). The watch has been acting up for a while already and I guess it’s done for. I had the Tokyoflash Pimpin ain’t easy SS watch since 2006 and it has served me well. I believe the last time I took the watch to a watchsmith, he accidentally broke the insulation (or whatever it’s called), water got in and messed the system up. Such is life. But now, I need a new watch.
Phosphor Reveal
by Taavi Kuisma on Mar.11, 2011, under Accessories & Luggage, Headlines
Phosphor is known for their innovative approach to time pieces. Their modern designs like E ink watches suit others but the designs are not meant for everyone. Thanks for my friend in Finland, I found out about their latest design, which is pretty impressive in its own way. Short warning, the watch is pretty “bling”.
Valentine’s Day Gifts
by Taavi Kuisma on Feb.14, 2011, under Accessories & Luggage, Headlines
Valentine’s Day like Christmas is time of sharing. Sharing gifts that is. Couples race to jewelry stores, shopping malls and all sorts of stores to satisfy their significant other’sĀ material needs. Of course sometimes the gift can be something immaterial such as a day spent together or a candle light dinner. But the material way is so much easier. So ladies, if you want to surprise your man and make him happy, get him a watch.
Modern luxury
by Taavi Kuisma on Nov.17, 2010, under Accessories & Luggage, Fashion and style, Headlines
Ever since Kanye’s internship with Louis Vuitton, the luxury brands have pretty much embraced the hip hop connection. And who could blame them, the artists keep flaunting their Gucci belts and Louis Vuitton bags in each and every video. With the growing demand and changing fashio ntides the brands also need to adapt to the environment the best way they can. Good examples include the Louis Vuitton kicks designed (or at least co-designed) by Kanye West as well as more recent examples such as Gucci’s Leather Bomber Jacket made exclusively in celebration of Jay Z’s book Decoded. A page of a book is printed on the jacket’s lining and the jacket is part of a “clue hunting” launched in association with the book release.
Wasted time
by Taavi Kuisma on Oct.27, 2010, under Accessories & Luggage, Headlines
Although the title might have connotation referring to time not so well spent, I am sure checking out the post is not total waste of your time. Instead we are actually talking about a new release from Tokyoflash, the originator of unique flashy time-pieces. The watch is actually called Wasted, referring to a state of mind and being you have after a number of tequila shots or what ever your choice of beverage might be.
Collaborations
by Taavi Kuisma on Oct.26, 2010, under Accessories & Luggage, Fashion and style
Collaborations are the in-thing of today’s fashion scene. The collaborations give a chance for two brands to combine their best features with the best features of another brand. The collaborations might come in form of and Artist giving perspective to a brand’s classic style e.g. Takashi Murakami x Louis Vuitton. Other brands such as mastermind Japan have made art of the collaborations. They combine their mastermind touch with the other brand’s style while retaining the other brand’s characteristics. I just wonder, if mastermind Japan is really seizing their operations in 2013, who’s going to take over the collaboration scene? We need another master-brand that can turn even ordinary every-day items into coveted collectors’ items.
It’s About Time
by Tuomas Jaalinoja on Aug.06, 2010, under Accessories & Luggage, Headlines
Yes, it’s about time for the weekend to start.
But before that, let’s keep staring at our wrists as we pile into the buses, trams or our neighbour’s ride as we carpool into work – just because our wives and girlfriends think it’s a better idea to carpoo and save money rather than, say, fit a turbocharged 2.6-litre DOHC 24-valve Nissan Skyline GT-R engine into a 1967 Mustang and drift to work.
Running out of time?
by Taavi Kuisma on Aug.05, 2010, under Accessories & Luggage, Headlines
Time is of the essence every minute of every hour of every day etc. Today I made use of most of the time and I didn’t even have my wrist watch on me. Funny. You know the feeling when you forget your watch, ring, bracelet or something else you have with you most of the time and now that you don’t have it you feel totally naked. Lucky this doesn’t happen to me too often.
U-Boat
by Taavi Kuisma on Aug.02, 2010, under Accessories & Luggage, Headlines
Have you ever thought about the depth disclaimers included with the watches? I sure have. I mean, when does someone dive to under few hundred meters and still wear his/her watch? No-one I say (please correct me if I am wrong, I know I probably am) unless you work in a submarine! The U-Boat watch just screams submarine sailor’s watch. U-Boat Italo Fontana Classico 1001 works under water. It actually works in depths up to 1001 meters deep! So this is the watch you want to be wearing when going under to meet Captain Nemo.
Watches ā And other cool stuff

What’s good?
It’s all good at my neck of the woods so I hope it’s the same there.
The FIFA World Cup is officially over. Another four years without soccer (except of the Euro Cup, but that’s more or less a teaser for the next WC). But yeah, Spain won, which is nice. Something fresh. Paul retained his status as a psychic know-it-all. I’m sure no-one can doubt his Jedi skills now. But on the downside, a lot of disappointed followers of teamBJ are now left without… well you know it. Great tournament I suppose, plenty of surprises, good games and so much more. As said, only 4 years till next one.
