Takashi Murakami x Google

I like the way Google keeps re-inventing their logo presentation on the iconic www.google.com. Their latest version of the word is done in collaboration with the artist Takashi Murakami who has given Google a KaiKai Kiki treatment. The two versions visible on google.com on the 21st of June mark the first day of summer or winter, depending on one’s location. Nicely done Google.

Snow Warning

We interrupt your scheduled program for a public service announcement.

We’re getting a white Christmas, that’s pretty much sure here in Finland. However the Winter Wonderland has somewhat turned into a chaos at least on the traffic side. With more snow coming down from the sky pretty much non-stop people get somehow carried away everything pretty much derails. I have already received messages across the world about delays in deliveries and postal services due to severe weather conditions. Winter comes every year, take notes people!

Sounds cool to me. So, if you are planning to travel abroad during your December-January holidays, go check out the Capital of Culture: Turku, Finland. And it would be cooler to walk in the Nordic climate in a pair of new Momotaro or KIKS TYO jeans. :)

Vintage 0901 Week XXXIII – Along came winter

Hi Y’all,

We’ve all recovered from the Saturday’s party and as I hinted on my previous post, the winter indeed made a comeback. Great! Christmas without snow in Finland does not really feel like Christmas, or so they say. Nevertheless I’m really happy to see snow again. The thing is that along with the snow, came the freezing cold weather. This morning Helsinki woke up to -12 degrees Celsius. Cold… Well that’s not all that cold if you think about the fact that not that long ago we still had (and the North of Finland still has) -20 to -30 degree Celsius climates. Now that’s cold.
