World Gone Sour

Man, on days like these you just want to sit back, relax, watch a good movie and maybe clear a bag of candy. Candy like Sour Patch Kids. I have to admit I have not come across ads for Sour Patch Kids before, maybe because the candy is not that big (or not available) in Finland. However, today I came across a particular video by none other than Method Man promoting the brand and the on-going World Gone Sour campaign. I can’t even hate, and those feeling like hating, don’t. Method Man is doing his thing, even when rhyming about candy. You be the judge but this ad got me checking the rest of the stuff the brand has been doing and it’s not all that bad.
Snake Pond

Some cool beats for your Thursday morning listening pleasure. Raekwon “the Chef” is delivering a solid track from the Shaoling Vs. Wu-Tang album. The film directed by Elephilms is just as gritty as the song. Note the cool Asian influenced beat. Man, I really love the Gong Fu inspired approach these dudes have on the songs. 2011 and Wu-Tang Clan still ain’t nothing to F with.

RZA Presents – Wu-Tang Vs The Golden Phoenix
by Taavi Kuisma on Jan.18, 2011, under Entertainment, Headlines
You know I’m a big fan of Kung Fu movies. Especially the old ones. The “Karate Films” from back in the day, ones with Bruce Lee and such. The later movies featuring Jet Li and Jackie Chan and of course the latest ones like Ip Man. It’s all good. Back in the day they kept it real with no flying or OTT stunts. It was all about the battles. A Hip Hop crew close to my heart, Wu-Tang Clan has paid homage to the old school Kung Fu films across their career with cnippets from old movies played on their albums and samples from the movies used as backgrounds for the songs. Well the Arch Bishop of Wu, the RZA has taken the Kung Fu theme on another level and produced this neat little flick titled RZA Presents – Wu-Tang Vs. The Golden Phoenix. Old school Kung Fu action. I mean needless to say more, check out the flick. The coolest thing I’ve seen this morning.

Hi Y’all,
I just bumped into the fresh video for Our Dreams from Method Man, Ghostface and Raekwon’s collaborative album Wu-Massacre dropping on March 30th. Interesting enough Mr. Method Man himself is visiting Helsinki this upcoming weekend for a performance, hopefully I can find time to visit the concert. It’s been like a year since the last time I attended a rap concert. That one was by Too Short, and it was a good show. Being that I am quite a fan of the Wu I’m really looking forward to the album.
